Deck Description

haven't been doing much magic lately, but i saw Iso-Pox and thought it'd be fun to try. i expect this list to be horrific, considering i'm good with creature tokens, swarm, and agro, all of which will be useless in this deck.
as i was making it, i just couldn't help myself -- i HAD to throw in some beatdown, in the form of tomstalker and tarmagoyf. i apologize. i just simply couldn't keep it controlly. i like agro too much.
i wanted to add a syphon life for my entomb engine because undiscovered paradice + crucible of worlds = retrace engine.
sideboard are some of the cards i'm thinking seriously about.

Deck discussion for Iso-Pox (notice lack of these -> " ")

Interesting, sort of like a starting point between my Iso-Pox frame and a PAL... I'm definitely investigating this further, but now I need sleep, school in the morning :/

Yeah, as i built it it kinda turned into Iso-PAL.... I think i bit off a little more than i could chew with the creation of this deck, what with no experience in pox, Iso-seek, and with the inclusion of a enlightened toolbox. but it's much better than what i thought it would be. what do you think is better for this deck, Ghastly Demise or Tragic Slip? and do you know where i might be able to put them in?

Hrm...well not bad given your history of aggro designs. It's certainly a new take on the design, and in fact is like a hybrid between PAL and Iso-Pox sorta. I don't know why but I can't think of anything else to say...probably because i'm so tired =/

I sleep nao, but will look at this a bit more later =]

yeah, this design is a little weird, and quite rough. the hardest thing was condensing it down into 60 cards, as it feels like a 70 card deck. i really want to include the entomb engine, but i don't know what to drop. i also really want to slip in a bitterblossom to grab with enlightened tutor in case i need more pressure. any ideas? i feel i stepped way out of my realm with this deck, but i also feel it might have potential.
come to think about it, does this even qualify as Iso-Pox, or is it just Iso-PAL? i'm not really sure.

I still say it's Iso-Pox, as it's closer to that than anything else really. PAL is so distinct in design that something can only really LOOK like a PAL or, more likely, look like it has PAL influence...and so a hybrid is sort of non-existent as well. So, there is no such thing as Iso-PAL and no real way for such a thing to ever exist to be honest =P

PAL is just too unique and "compact" (60 cards fitting 70 like you said, but in this case more like 80 fit into 60) =/

So the closest thing I might call this is and Iso-Pox with slight PAL influence...but that's a mouthful, so just call it Iso-Pox d(^_^v)

Now, first thing's first, I don't think you should keep the Goyf, or green for that matter. You can focus your aggro aspect a bit better that way to be honest. For one, such severe splashes like the one you have now give me small anurisms...but also, you can line up a stronger board presence with Bitterblossum and Ghast (not a real fan of Stalker in this list either). The main problem is that by putting too much into board presence through aggro, you lessen the impact of a controlling presence...which in turn puts more pressure on your aggro front...It's a vicious cycle =/

I would try to wiggle in some more passive control tech like Contamination (great with blossum), Stax, Winter Orb, etc.

i was actualy looking into winter orb and cantamination, but without bitterblossom i wasn't going to use Conatamination and i just couldn't find enough room for winter orb. yeah, the goyf (thoough usualy a 5/6+) is most offen just sacrificed to my pox effects, and i was iffy on the deed in the first place. i think i'll cut out green, but there's no way i'm dropping tombstalker. he's been quite a star. that gives me enough room for a blossom, a winter orb, and my entomb engine. Speaking of which, i just realized that Filth is absurd in this deck, what with 3 urborg. i'll make the changes later tonight.

Yeah actually it looks very good now. The Stalker works nicely for it too, contrary to what I said before. Overall, well done =]

yarp, it seems to be running pretty well. but i wonder if i could posibly sneak in either syphon life or raven's crime for my retrace engine.... any ideas on which one i should use or which one to toss in? raven's crime leaves me room for other spells, and can provide constant disruption, but syphon life gives me life, which is much needed against more agro-ish decks.

Raven's Crime for sure man. You can do so dirty things with that card to be honest, especially with the land base you have and Crucible. Besides, you get life from Seek =]

and that, my friend, is the hardest part. i haven't got a clue. any ideas? unfortunately i haven't got much time to test this deck right now, and i'm really bad at playing this type of deck in the first place. if i ever find the time and place to test it, i will.
