Deck Description

so i was looking at Inexorable Tide on the gatherer, and one of the comments said "I see in the near future Blue/Green Proliferate infect decks played at lighting speed." i took that as a challenge. so here it goes. the basic idea is to ramp into inexorable tide, then start storming away with the help of plentiful mana, preordain, and jace. the regular jace is in here because i think he's a better draw engine that jtm, simply because he can grow and draw u stuff at the same time. i'm thinking about putting in black, but idk. i'm also looking for a place to sneak in signal pest and Contagion Engine. Tell me what u think.

Deck discussion for Ploliferate Fast....?

stead progress might be a good card instead of preordain, 3cmc prolif/draw one. also core prowler is a 4cmc prolif on death infect, i personally never understood y the hydra is a good card, but maybe im missing something, also id personally find a card to replace ichorclaw, just not a fav of mine. but thats just my 2 cents

i was thinking about steady progress. the thing is, what should i take out? the hydra is a one-hit wonder. because the way trample works, it's first hit is not dulled at all by the -1/-1 counters, so it's simply a finnisher if i cant find inexorable tide. i no about core prowler, but he doesn't really fit the deck, in the sense that i have nothing to sac him to, and he costs quite a bit of mana which is a not what i need after i've layed down inoxerable tide. ichorclaw is in here because early game they may let him threw for fear of loosing or crippling one of they're early game creatures. that's insane in this deck because it needs that poison counter once i drop inexorable tide. though i am thinking about maybe swapping him for plague myr. what do u think?

Brian, I really like this idea.

I think the issue I always had with Inexorable tide, like you pointed out, is getting it out into play quickly enough and still having the low-cost spells available in order to really harness its power.

I was working on my own mono-blue infect deck, and was considering either a black or green complement. Your idea is definitely making me lean green.

i think the ichorclaw thing is cuz normally i play infect against infect, and either way with ichorclaw you may as well block it instead of let the one thru, cuz the myr will take a poison counter and be dead afterwards just the same as my 1/1 whatever infect. as for steady progress id trade it out for preordain but thats just me, the scry will only be so useful, and with the land ramp you have you really shouldnt have a problem with needing mana. maybe toss in giant growths insteaad of carrion call too, it can buff up your hydra real fast, and it will trample thru. 4 mana for 2 1/1 creatures is pretty standard, the problem is u can get any other 1/1 infect out for 2 mana, and then do it again next turn if you dont have the free land. once again just my thoughts, i do like the idea alot though
