Deck Description

Think I've finally gotten my vampire deck right where I want it to be. Just in time for Wizards to throw x-factors in my face with new stuff in Worldwake. Most of the usual suspects in a vampire deck except with Mind Rot for an earlier hand disruption and an extra Grim Discovery because its pretty excellent at bringing back fetches (to help fix mana and thin the deck) and creatures lost to removal (Nocturnus and the Malakir wonder twins).

Gee Puffermad, I am sure that was helpful. Keep posting stuff like that....

Anyway... brokenenigma, I run a vamp deck, too. I like yours quite a bit, running 4 bloodghasts and 4 nocturnuses is a strong play (I don't have enough of either card for myself, so I have had to look at different win conditions).

The only real suggestion I would make here is to add Doomblades either to your Main or your Sideboard. I know you have Deathmark, but that is obviously much more restricted in what you can use it on. I also prefer Durress in the Main because in your first game of the game of the match you don't really know what you are up against (normally) and Duress allows you to actually look at the opponents hand. Then you can pull in the Mind Rot/Sludge from the sideboard later if you decide that you need more discard types. Just some thoughts. Overall I think this is a very strong deck. If you get a chance if you could check out mine and give some input I would appreciate it. It's always helpful for me to get comments from people running their own Vamp decks.

i like the way your deck looks. Looks like it would be fun to play. Like nightmare said I to do not have enough of the same cards so I went with a beefier type vamp deck. Take a look at it and tell me what you think.

Great deck since its really similar to mine : ). I would take out the mind rots for mind sludge since its just a better overall card. Turn 5 mind sludge is almost always a game winner. I think your deck isn't aggro enough to make full use out of duress and on top of that, you should know what decks you're playing against by the lands they play early game. In my deck I have two more creature removal in place of a grim discovery and discard spell. I like your choice with the grim discoveries though...they really carry the deck late game. I would take out one or two lands and replace with some other cards but thats just my taste on the curve because i see grim discovery as part of my land base.
