Deck Description

This is a more or less casual Golgari Deck utilizing the new guild mechanics.
I have jet to playtest this, gut it will probably turn out to be an "I have big dudes" deck
This is a budget deck, so no expensive zombies, abrupt decay, deathrite shaman etc.

good ideas and comments are very welcome!

Note: i picked up this deck for less than 30 dollars and it plays amazingly well, much better than i would have thought it would on paper...

How to Play

crank out the creatures on the curve, grisly salvage to fill graveyard to scavenge creatures and feed Jarad.

I would recommend strangleroot for any deck that is aggressive and can afford his mana cost (your deck should be able to reasonably cast him). I mean having some woodland cemeteries would be nice despite their cost. Corpsejack menace is also a great card. Not only is he a pretty solid creature by himself he facilitates the scavenge mechanic. Pretty solid deck though, I've tinkered a lot in black and green decks so I can definitely appreciate what you're aiming for.

thanks. I wasn't sure about the corpsjack because 1. I dont have many scavenge creatures after alss and 2. the 4drop spot is already crowded and I'd rather play a jarad on turn 4.
I dont know how often the corpsejack + scavenge combo actually works... never tried it =)

Its pretty crazy once it gets going and it also triggers off lotleth troll. If nothing else you get a 4/4 creature for four which isn't a bad deal. I've done a lot of different playtests decks around him or including him and he's served well enough.

so what what shouldd the corpsejack replace? cant decide.....

edit: decided to take out the guildmages, but not too sure on that, since they were one of my few sorces of evasion.

Id recomend splinterfrights and gnaw to the bone. I actually run Black Green zombies and i know its budget but discarding a gravecrawler to the lotleth troll for +1+1 than casting him into battlefield same turn from discard pile is just too legit. Also splinterfright feeds jarad. Gnaw to the bone for 2 reasons, you get to thoroughly abuse its potential, just 5 creatures in the discard pile and you get 10 life for 3 mana, and it has flashback so you can cast it again or even cast it if it gets milled by grisily salvage. I tend to run less lands as well close to 21 and i use mulch for mill and mana gain.

so you are using mulch instead of grisly salvage or are you running grisly + mulch + gnaw?

edit: i would also like to take 1 or 2 lands out but since i dont have any dual lands this can really hurt...

With mulch/ grisly salvage you could probably afford to run less lands just off the principle of being able to "draw" into them using mulch/salvage. Its actually pretty good mana fixing

hmm. I am not sure if this deck provides enough evasion for my big dudes to actually get through. the imp and lotleth troll have evasion and rancore provides some more.. is that enough? thinking about rouges passage or guildmage...

suggestions?
