Deck discussion for Dredge up some nightmares

i would add more dread returns mayb another 2 because it will speed up your early game dredging. i cant really think of much right now, im brain fartin all over the place, once i can figure out more to help you out ill post another comment, but thanx again for the comment you gave mine! :DDD

hey thanks! would you mind explaining why it would speed up the early dredge? i'm open to doing it lol but karador is pretty proficient at bringing back creatures himself lol

So i brainfarted again, so i noticed you are right about Karador hah!, so your fine with 1 dread return, mayb jus mayb 1 more could help, but im sure you will be fine with that 1. i would do this

-1 Arcanis, the Omnipotent (to much mana cost i love his effect but not worth it)
-3 Hapless researcher (i would just add 3 more breathroughs more dreading)
-1 Show and tell (again like it, this seems to be a sideboard to me)

possible ideas for you to look into:

Bridge form below- Rules: Whenever a nontoken creature is put into your graveyard from play, if Bridge from Below is in your graveyard, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token into play. When a creature is put into an opponent's graveyard from play, if Bridge from Below is in your graveyard, remove Bridge from Below from the game.
you can make a mass army with this badboy.
BfrB and Dread return easily makes 3 2/2 zombies

lovin it looks alot bette rand organized, i would take out the single brownscale, u dont need the gain life, you lookin to take out your opponent quick, so i would drop him and either add one more venge, or make golgari thug a set, cause he is a 2 mana dredge 4 and thatlllet u dredge alot of guys into your GY, other then that looks like it can do some mess! good job :)

You're missing the staple card of Dredge -- Stinky, the Stinkweed Imp! If I were you, I'd take out the Vengevines (Dredge hardly CASTS any creatures =P) and the Golgari Brownscale for a full playset of Stinkweeds.

but surewhnot lol all i really need to do in the end is cast 1 creature because karador casts atleast one creature a turn lol but i'll drop one:p what do you think i should change for the imps?

Dredge was the ORIGINAL enemy of Extraction maaaaaannnnyyyy years ago, so I know the deck pretty well =P

It looks good now, though I still think that fourth Stinky would help you out.

I use dredge as the main mechanic in my Wormharvest deck and I find more draw = more dredge and that's good :) To get more draw I use lands with cycling for draw and Life from the Loam to return them to hand. To get dredgers from my hand into my grave, I use Raven's Crime on myself and Life from the Loam makes sure I have lands in hand to retace. To prevent myself from milling myself due to the dredge, I use the Elemental Incarnations (Dread, Vigor, Hostility, Purity and Guile), I use 8 of them and because I never really play them I don't need the colour mana to cast them :p

hey thanks! thats a really smart idea actually, is there anything you would do with this deck?

The problem is in my Wormharvest deck I only have the dredgers in to get lands into my grave as Wormharvest gets better the more lands there are in the grave, as for your deck, I think you want to play the dredgers and that's a whole different ball game.

my biggest concern with this deck is the landbase, any suggestions?

Landbase? We don't need no stinking landbase! It's Dredge!

In all seriousness, it looks fine. Only by playing it can you fine tune it anymore.

How attached are you to those Putrid Imps? I'd take out 2 to put in 1 Painter and a 4th Dread Return.

eh pretty attached! they are one of the easiest ways to get things to the graveyard! lol

It would be cool to dredge the crap out of yourself with elfrazi titans to stop mill and self-discard. Nice deck though man ;)

Seeing as this deck is getting some attention (grats on front page btw) can somebody explain the idea behind dredge? I guess I don't see the win con of milling yourself, but obviously I'm missing something.
