just a deck used to abuse torpor orbs ability :)

other creatures with abilities similar to that of the hunted's would be nice to know! :)

Deck discussion for QUIT Torporing yourself!

mono green stompy is redundant. only mono green is able to be stompy, everything else is just aggro. :|

i like the concept here though, and there are many green creatures that would work well with this trick. i will try to think of some and let you know. i will say that phyrexian dreadnought came to mind immediately. :)

yes i knew that:p

hey thanks! i've changed it up abit to make it more streamlined stompy! i know its not officially stompy because of the inclusion of white but i like it :)

Might be true in Standard/Extended, but in Legacy, there are also mono-red Dragon Stompy and weird-arsed mono-blue Stompy decks (based on Sea Drake). Aggro's usually about accumulating damage from multiple cheap threats like Wild Nacatl and Tarmogoyf. The Stompy decks are not really "aggro" because they focus on cheating mana acceleration to drop a few huge creatures fairly early, using Ancient Tomb and City of Traitors, the red variant uses acceleration like Seething Song and Simian Spirit Guide, the blue version (which I have never understood to save my life) uses Mox Diamond and Chrome Mox and junk like that.

This is a great idea. I really think a blue-black Torpor Dreadnought deck could be something special, with Stifle and Hunted Phantasm and Hunted Horror. I'll try to build it and post to MTG Vault some time today.

It's not green but Torpor Orb + Etched Monstrosity = 10/10 creature for 5 mana

Or Melira, Sylvok Outcast too

actually that doesn't work cause it enters the battlefield with them on it. just like a clone enters the battlefield as the creature it copies, its not a triggered ability. If it said (When Etched Monstrosity enters the battlefield put five -1/-1 counters on it) the it would be a triggered ability and you could do it. and besides a 12/12 for 1 mana is much better anyway

I had fought this out for a few weeks. It works but i dont remember the rule. it has something to do with the stack. when it enters its ability is put on the stack then melira's ability goes on to of that, thus resolving first and giving you a 10/10 for 5 mana. still its nothing like 3 turn 3 12/12's.

You are now a troll. Hurp-durping your friends with retarded combos that give you 12/12 tramples for 1 mana.

aha how does that make me a troll?

I would go UG with this... You gotta protect the Orb, plus U gives you Stifle and deck menipulation.

Also Gurrak's companion is cute, but too excencive I think.

I originally thought of going U/G for the stiflenaught combo but decided W/G was better for the tutor.
The people i play with dont play with counters or artifact kill really so i dont have to worry about that so i felt that white green was the best way to get my combo off, but maybe i'll change the mana base to include some blue for stifle.. i'll see how it goes

looking back at this, it would be even funnier if you could acquire some lightning greaves, so that you could scoot a big creature out turn 3-ish and wtfzorz shroud-'n-haste them with a stupid-big creature.

so how long did it take you to come up with the idea for this deck?

not long lol, soon after i saw torpor orb for the first time i noticed hunted lamasu on my table and the idea came

If you were to add blue to this, I could see Jokulmorder fitting in really well in this deck.

i like the idea behind this deck torpor hurts cards like titans but i would sugest a cathedral membrane to help with defence its the best defender for it can kill any titan that decided to attack lol

it kills anything with 6 rear so even wurmcoil gets hurt and if u make a combo with it to give it the ability to block multiple creatures it deal 6 to each creature it blocks so in other words mass field clear if used right

0

i would sugest a way for them to get trample ie sword of vengence overwhelming stampede unnatural predation

ur deck color states it being green but there are other colors as well might want to fix that

I vote add in Scythe Tigers, a 3/2 for 1 mana is pretty nice when you don't draw your Dreadnoughts.

Take a look at my Standard Turn 1 WIN: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=197340

I'd also consider hunted Horror, but it's a double black mana cast... so likely not.

hey man if you want and even sicker 1 cost beast DEATH'S SHADOW. 1 black for a 13/13

0

that doesn't work, deaths shadow is constant

0

the deaths shadow combo works with Melira, Sylvok outcast.

yea sorry i thought it was an enter effect. well anyway thanks for the idea with melira im going to add that combo to my soul conduit deck.

Death's Shadow never gets -1/-1 counters though, it's just a constant -x/-x ability. That combo won't work

Holey crap, this deck is the nuts. i knew torpor orb had great applications like stopping cawblade and deciever twin, but i didn't think of it outside of standard. this deck is just silly and should easily crush people. nice job, you should look at my Myr Militia 2.0 deck and tell me what you think.

This loses hard to maze of ith. Anyone with sculpting steel if the orb is out. And... anyone with unsummon. Doom blade... so many common counters to it. might consider that wielding pot from mirrodin that costs 0 and sacs to regen an artifact.
