Deck Description

this deck uses a combination of birthing pod and mimic vat to destroy your opponents

besides your vat and pod, there are 3 things needed for this deck, ramps to speed you up, creatures to sac, and effects that trigger on entering the battlefield

so first thing is first, ramps
both of our key artifacts as well as many poweful creatures in this deck will cost 3 mana, so we are going to focus on ramps that get us to 3 mana

birds of paradise
llanowar elves
lotus cobra
there we go, thats all our ramps

Next is on to the stuff to sac
this stuff needs to be sac'd a lot, so bloodghast and vengevine will fill this role since they both can be replayed again and again
this means 3 and 5 drops are the most important to this deck, which as it turns out works very nicely for us

2 drops
myr superion, he is good even if you just save him for after they Wrath all creatures, imagine their faces when you play and sac an elf on the following turn for a 5/6

3 drops
mirran crusader - protection + damage
phyrexian crusader - protection
enormous baloth - passes jace, lightning bolt, inferno titan, and a whole slew of other tests
glissa, the traitor - regen your artifacts with a first striker 3/3 with deathtouch
Vampire Nighthawk - lifelink, death touch, flying
cadevar imp, good for recurring other creatures

5-drops
Acidic slime- a must for an all purpose destruction for non-creatures
Baneslayer Angel- yeah, its still great

6 drops
massacre wurm
primeval titan
sun titan
all are viable, but please do yourself a favour and only choose to include 1 since you will rarely ramp up to them through your sacs

so now I will try to make another deck

Deck discussion for mimicpod

Take another look at your deck, you have several errors. Enormous Baloth is not a 3 drop. Leatherback is. Plus Glissa is too mana intensive for this deck. If you want to get the sac engine going you are going to need to put 4 of for birthing pod and 4 or for your mimic vat and adjust accordingly. Plus, having so few removal spells can be problematic. Massacre Wurn is a great card but again, it's mana intensive, a BBB casting cost will be hard to deal with if you get this stuck in your hand and can't cast it. Myr Superion is a amazing card for this type of theme, you should probably run more, and one more thought about Vengevine to remember is that yes, it is an awesome card to sac and dredge back but it will NOT triggger on brithing pod's ability as you are putting the creature, NOT casting as the text states. I like the idea, with a little work it could be a smooth running engine. :)

Ok, yes you are right about leatherback baloth, that was a really big error by me

Glissa is definitely not too mana intensive in a deck running 4 birds of paradise and 3 lotus cobra

10 ramps means I can play creatures from my hand, and while you are right about me misreading Vengevine, it is still easily useable with how much ramp and how many creatures I have to play in this deck

Massacre wurm is mana intensive and I will probably not play it unless I get really lucky on turn 6 if it is in my hand, but that applies to any of the 6 drops that I could play except wurmcoil engine, which I guess I might think about adding

3 of each only slightly lowers probabillity and I do not need 2 copies in any given game so it works
