spike caw

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

mana ramp start -> caw blade middle -> spike shot elder blade ending
the idea is that if they fail to prevent any one stage the opponent will be in a very bad situation, but they will also be hard pressed to have enough spell removal to be able to prevent the spikeshot elders after everything else

hoping to eventually get this deck to tournament qaulity so any comments are greatly appreciated

Deck discussion for spike caw

anyone have any suggestions on how to improve or reasons this is not viable?

Its not viable. If you want something like this to happen you got to balance things out. Having to much of something doesn't mean the deck is good. I suggest dual lands instead of fetches since fetches can only get 1 color and removes the possibility of getting another color of the 3. To much equipment! Your stoneforge mystic will be sad knowing that you dont need any of them. 5 Pieces of removal only (Ajani)? A standard, extended, or even legacy has more than 5 pieces of removal or hatred.
For lands you need more green hands down and duals.
For equipment if you really like fetches you should do 1 adventuring gear so that when you have more than 3 fetches on hand you would be gold.
Grafted exoskeleton probably none and a 1 basilisk collar to replace it with.

A good green card that hasn't seen play yet is" lead the stampede". It might work on a deck with mostly creature. Test it.

1. fetch land + lotus cobra = 2 mana of any color
2. grafted exoskeleton is because of spike shot elders ability to deal damage, i thought it would stack, correct if wrong
3. maybe i might have too many equipments, granted
4. most of side board is spell removals if needed
5. why do i need more green? the only purpose of any green card on the main board is to generate mana
6. ajani because he happens to be the right colors and his abillities do help my deck
7. fetches also thin out the deck allowing me to draw the cards i want sooner
8. this is not a smash deck, it is a caw blade into a spikeshot elder finish, there are only 4 cards in this deck that actually attack at all, why would i add a lead the stampede?

reason for the doubling of artifacts is to make for harder removal, that way 2x crush does not destroy my whole deck

I don't think that either blade works with spikeshot because they both require combat damage to trigger and his ability doesn't deal combat damage. The grafted exoskeleton does infect them but it is prbably not the viable option for this deck. Also your current spells do not have enough removable for T2 but Ajani changes that so ... Overall its a good idea just maybe remove a color and you'll be fitting in better.

i am thinking i should replace ajani with red sun's zenith and the grafted exoskeltons to the side board for 2 Elspeth, Knight-Errant, which will give me better damage output as well as a cannon fodder for decks that like to get a lot out early. Anyone have any comments on this idea?

actually i am going to almost completely redo and take out green entirely, it doesn't add enough for me to be able to justify having it over other cards, will finish changes and edit soon
