Deck discussion for turn 2 win g/r infect

For speed sake, consider Necropede or Ichorclaw Myr in place of Rot Wolf. Getting him out turn 3 does little for you, and ideally, you want the pump or creature drop on turn 2 for the kill turn 3 at the latest.

Joraga also does little for you here. Consider replacing her with more pump, like Prey's Vengeance or Vines of Vastwood.

Flame Slash to replace Lightning Bolt in the event you need creature removal (perhaps a sideboard option).

I welcome any comments or criticism on any of the decks I have posted here on the site (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks in advance!

Copperline Gorge would benefit you greatly here as well.

well actually, to be honest I think I am going to try running it with lightning bolt first because of the instant speed, so i don't have to waste a mana on my turn. Will change if i need the extra 1 damage though

Unsummon beats pump-infect. Just to let you know.

Lots of things beat pump infect. It's a discipline thing, it's not always right to 'blow your load' in one swing. Like LD, infect is the balance of patience and aggression, feeling and exploiting.

yeah I know it does, but its a good deck overall, and its fast, and there is also a chance they won't draw unsummon right :P

Inkmoth Nexus can hurt your cause here. Having one early doesn't help you pump when you can, or, you'd be spending mana that could have been pump to have a 1/1 flyer. I've personally never liked the card, always thought of it being a drawback until later in a game.

actually not really
it does help and its a land, and provides an extra infect or two
if nothing else it does damage and infect when I can't pump due to blockers

For this to be a 3th turn kill deck you need to have a superb hand. One creature, one booster, and assult strobe. If there is a blocker, you're fucked. Your deck gets eaten by other infect decks like bleu black. They have counter, removel, more creatures, proliferate, give you counters without attacking and make there creatures unblockable. Bleu White control Caw blade kicks holds you off with mysticks birds and blades. And kills you with Jace or Vester.

Not to be negative, but I think you need a mid and long game gameplan …

no
look, remember the kuldotha red decks? they have less of a chance of going off very fast then this imo, give me an hour or 2 and i will calculate the probabillities of everything working for you, i can't do it right at this moment, but will do it pretty soon

Ok, i am not going to explain how I got this unless someone requests but here
Note, they are relatively simplistic, but still not the easiest things in the world to calculate

This is the probabillity of NOT drawing any 4 of by turn 3 in a 60 card deck

Turn 1 60.05%
Turn 2 55.52%
Turn 3 51.25%

The probabillity of NOT drawing either vines of vastwood or groundswell (8 cards which we will say both give +4/+4) is

turn 1...34.46%
turn 2....29.41%
turn 3....24.89%

so really we have a fair chance of being able to combo off for a lot of damage on turn 3, and lightning bolts generally take care of blockers

side note: flameslash does more damage and I wouldn't blame someone for adding it over lightning bolt, but I like the instant speed

also, I am sorry that this is so incomplete in comparison to a full stat and probabillity list, but probabillity gets really complex really fast. If you don't believe me go look it up yourself, and I would welcome any simple way to do this correctly

Might want to consider livewire lash its a great finisher if you you''re creatures can't do anymore damage because of blockers or getting tapped (tumble magnet!). Just boost your creatures or even kill them and
the two poison damage goes to your opponent everytime it's get targetted.

Hi there Burkek, Nice looking deck. I am just going to throw out some ideals for you to consider. Some of it may or may not be useful.

Personally I worry that you have just a few too little creatures maybe fit 2-4 either Plague Myr or Necropede. If they can keep you from getting creatures down, your spells are mostly worthless.
Also I enjoy having a few Contagion Clasp so you can keep proliferating for the win if you can't get creatures through. It also works well with something like Oran-Rief, the Vastwood and putting a -1/-1 counter on creatures gives you a little more removal.
I agree that Livewire lash can be great. Also the swords give a good way to boost and protect your creature. Other equipment to consider are adventuring gear (works great with fetchlands) or Swiftfoot Boots(or lightning greaves)
Apostle's Blessing can also be a game winner in the right situation.
Autumn's Veil and Nature's Claim are good sideboard options.
I also question if splashing red is the right choice over slashing blue or black which have lots of great cards for infect.

I know the following cards may not fit with your format but the are great for infect. Invigorate is awesome. Also Rancor, Berserk, Bounty of the Hunt and Might of Old Krosa.
Pendelhaven is a fun land.

Good luck with the deck!
