Proliferate is Protean Hydra's BFF, also it's worst enemy, -1/-1 counters can end the Hydra, and get past the Umbras Totem Armor.

it dosent matter if they hydra's counters are gone you remove them at the end of the turn and if it has at least +1 toughness on a umbra it stays alive
Mono Green is very weak against any kind of counters or creature destruction. Even a good Discard deck would pick out all your decent creatures and send them to the graveyard. I would hardly recommend that you mix it with another colour. Therefore it is necessary to throw out some enchantments. This would make your deck more variable.
