Deck Description

New spider deck, super cheap, still fun not many decks going for $5$ all credit goes to http://www.mtgvault.com/joshdog/ his ideas and combinations.

Revenge of the hunted has replaced door of destinies in this super cheap version, joshdog insists that door of destinies is crucial.

Lets get some love for this out fo the box spider deck, that is both super cheap and still competitive against mates

I don't mean to be a bitch but why?
It's not good!

Listen: You don't have a clear focus, you are not a graveyard deck! Not a good one at least, the deck is all over the place, infect+graveyard+spiders don't go well togather at all, an unfocused deck is the second worst thing behind a 62 cards or more in a deck.

Get a clear focus!!!!!
Be it graveyard, b/g mid, ramp anything but NOT everything!
The graveyard synergy makes the rest of the deck MUCH weaker and vice-versa.

Again, I don't want to bo mean, and trust me I kept doing this exact mistake for a VERY long time, but it's vital that you focus your deck on one, and only one thing!

Another tip, don't tag the deck modern as in that foramt you would lose 142% of the games you played with this one, tag it casual or tag it both modern and casual.

Another thing, the sb isn't for cards you couldn't fit in the deck, it's for cards that will help you vs other decks that igh give you trouble, put some graveyard hate, enchantment/artifact removal, lifegain in there.

The deck is also tagged "budget" & "fun"...pretty clear indicators that this is a KT deck built according to Modern format guidelines.

lol, the tags are exactly what the deck is, its a fun, budget modern legal spider deck...the fact that its 5$ should probably be a sign it inst going to win an official series of matches, but if your looking for a cheap way to play a new tribal then the tags are pretty clear.

The sideboard isnt for cards that wouldn't fit, but instead are alt cards that would up the price and change the dynamics a tad.

Honestly i don't get the issue for having graveyard a secondary effect, its not really a core mechanic just inherent in spiders.

So, it looks like the strategy here is to get enough creatures in your GY to generate a mass of spider tokens w/ which to Stampede? My personal approach to that would probably be to go less spider tribal & focus more on deathtouch, replacing Blightwidow, Nyx Weaver, Llanowar Elves, & Mulch w/ small deathtouchers &/or support spells such as Lure, Virulent Swipe, Ruthless Instincts, & whatnot. (Side note: For 4cmc, Reaper of the Wilds has an excellent body & a nice little package of abilities.) The split of creature vs. non-creature cards in your deck is even enough that I personally wouldn't be comfortable going the Nyx Weaver/Mulch route, but that may just be a reflection of my own style...if you've played the deck & found that it works well as is, 'nuff said. Happy holidays!

yeah its tested, but the tested version hasn't got llanowar elves or revenge of the hunted, and instead has gloomwidow and door of destinies

Love this Deck thanks for the idea of splashing some black into it.

It's kind of neat but I don't see it as anywhere near competitive. I just seems kind of slow and clunky. Easy to race and easy to disrupt.

There should be a 5$ format... I know if there was card prices would change but still... Let's play a game where we find decks better that cost 5$, it's definitely possible... But I think we're overlooking the cost and outcome. Yeah it might lose to a 100$ budget deck but it's hard to argue that it's 20x worse...

You should look into pauper. That's basically "the budget format".

It basically is, but remember you can't play uncommons/rares/mythics/etc. only commons. This sucks for casual players a lot because they probably have some rares that they want to incorporate into funky, fun, or cool decks they make to show to their friends; in other words, kitchen table magic with friends would be best for this deck.

I do have a 6 dollar-ish deck, but it is pauper. I do like the idea of the format though. Also this deck isn't 5 dollars anymore

Hi, your decks seems pretty good for budget
But the blight widow isn't very... centered? it really doesn't fit in even though its a spider because of the infect theme it has. I would switch that out with 2 more arachnus web. I think it would work better that way. Also the purpose of the deck seems a bit... off centered as well. It's kinda hard to tell between gy interaction and midrangey. I would play more cards for midrange, like Penumbra Spider. And while you're splashing black, why not play removal? There's a LOT of G/B removal out there that you could use.
heres a list:
