Deck Description

This is an EDH Mono Red burn deck that I recently put together. I have not seen Kumano as a general before and decided to attempt to create a (hopefully) decent deck that can ramp and burn!!

How to Play

It would be best to try to ramp as hard as you can to get the ball rolling in order to make the X costing spells hit even harder as the game goes on

That looks like a really good idea! I am not great with the upkeep cost mechanics from cards like these because i tend to forget about it lol

The upkeep in this case is a relic. At one point in time any mana you had in your mana pool that you didn't use hit you for a point of damage each when not used. So originally Braid would give you mana in increasing amounts each turn that you had to spend or you took damage.

Now that unused mana doesn't hurt you anymore it's just free ramp.

Ahh okay. That makes sense. So each age counter = 1 mana per upkeep, and the more there are the more mana i have to use to keep the age counters but get mana floating at the same time?

I believe that the rules in regards to when mana empties from your pool changed as well. It used to empty at the end of the turn, but now it empties after every step. so you'd need to spend that on instant speed stuff during your upkeep.
