Deck Description

~~Deck still updated regularly~~

Pretty cheap mill deck for standard. Jace is the bulk of the cash here, and some of the rares are about $1.

Other possibilities include Wight of Precinct Six and Rogue's Passage. May toy around with them.

I have Disperse on the sideboard for decks that depend on Planeswalkers/Artifacts/Enchantments; otherwise Far // Away is better because you can alternatively have them sacrifice something.

Update 1/3:
Upon testing, Chronic Flooding is way better in theory than in practice. Replacing them entirely with Duskmantle Guildmages because... seriously why was I not running them before? Will test Rogue's passage soon and may consider more Consuming Aberrations.

How to Play

It's a mill deck. Just make the opponent discard their whole library. I don't really like that I have very few creatures in here, so I put in the defenders mostly for stalling purposes. If I realize they're garbage, I'll just swap them for more countering stuff.

Deck discussion for (Budget) Standard U/B Mill

This deck is total theory at the moment but it's also like $15 so who cares

How is this working with only 4 creatures for defending?

Because you have a lot of answers.
A) Counter their creatures as they summon them with Psychic Strike.
B) Lock them down with Claustrophobia.
C) Temporary fix, but send them back to the opponent's hand with Disperse (works great for Planeswalkers, too).
D) If they're huge, make them tiny and easy to block with Rapid Hybridization. I do believe the tokens get summoning sickness from that, too, which buys you time.
I haven't tested this build yet, and I may swap out the Rapid Hybridizations for Frost Breath or Far // Away.

I'm going to give it a try but making some adjustments of my own. Keep updating with test results. :)

Sure, I will. This is my pet deck that I use for FNM because Mill is fun and I don't want to spend a lot of money on a deck if I'm not really playing to win.

I've been wanting to build a mill deck and this gives me some great ideas. One of my friends runs one but his has issues and just can't get past my U/R izzet deck with spellhearts.
