Deck Description

Grixis Goryo's Vengeance! I have always loved playing Grixis decks so I decided to try Grixis Goryo's Vengeance. You just want to abuse big creatures like Griselbrand and Emrakul.

I ussually play Grixis Cruel Control for Modern, here it is:
http://www.mtgvault.com/casey130/decks/grixis-cruel-control-modern/

Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated!

How to Play

With the god hand you can get Emrakul or Griselbrand on the field turn 1 with the following:
Untapped Black Land
2 Simian Spirit Guide
Faithless Looting
Goryo's Vengeance
Emrakul or Griselbrand

Play untapped black land, exile Simian Spirit Guide casting Faithless Looting, discard Emrakul* or Griselbrand, exile Simian Spirit Guide and tap black land for Goryo's Vengeance! WIN!

It is also possible to win on turn 1 with this hand listed above. You have to have Griselbrand. You attack with the nasty demon, go up to 27 life, pay 21 life and draw 21 cards (LOL), and you would have to cast Fury of the Horde twice (exiling 4 red cards from your hand to cast them).

*Note: you would have to respond to Emrakul's "shuffle" ability with Goryo's Vengeance.

Deck discussion for Goryo's Vengeance (Modern)

Deck seems pretty good, why the unloved? How does the deck play in modern?

I would drop Lili and a land for 2 more Serum Visions. I wish there was some Thoughtseize main here too. Played a ton of Reanimator in Modern, and while the deck is sometimes inconsistent, it's definitely viable.

I play a pretty unconventional list, with Necrotic Ooze

If you play Simian Spirit Guide and Pentad Prism, i think 20 lands are a lot. You could use some Thoughtseize in the main to help you to protect your combo.

I play insta reanimator, you could see my deck:

Thanks for the feedback, maybe if I put in main board Thought seizes, I don't need blue in the deck
