In the whole deck including sideboard, i only see green for abrupt decay and grim flayer. is green really necessary for just those two cards? with some mono black subs this could be probably as effective without a painful manabase.

Yep, my exact thoughts, if the rock is to be the build it would want scoozes, goyfs, maelstrom pulse. And not just 8 cards, as good as they may be.Especially when Twilight Mire makes running Phyrexian Obliterator easy
I was thinking about adding the scoozes. I don't have Goyfs or pulses, but can at least afford the latter. As far as mono black subs, I was thinking of running mono, but wanted the option to run other things. I also forgot to put Eldritch Evolution in the list.
I find it hard in my opinion to justify Eldritch Evolution in the deck. Two cards pull out Obliterator and Geralf's can pull Gary while make a nice drain combo, sure, but I feel like that's not enough. Why not drop Liliana and run another big 4 drop, since you're going primarily black there are plenty of big 4 drops out there. Hell, Demonlord of Ashmouth combos nicely with Relentless Dead and Geralf's and he's a huge 4 drop flying beater, but I know his downside can be harsh to handle.
E.Evolution is there to get the creatures that I will want late game, while it's not terrible if it gets countered. Using creatures like Relentless Dead and Geralf's Messenger as the sac outlets allow me to get them back pretty easily (undying making it happen right then). Liliana is there to help deal with their hands and their board which I think is great. But, if I were to take her out for another 4 drop I think it would be better to run something bigger than Demonlord of Ashmouth (maybe Desecration Demon or even Creakwood Liege). There are so many options that can help progress this deck. Hence it's a test deck.
Maybe even Vengevine, Cryptghast, or Gonti would work well here. I don't know.
Gonti would destroy in Modern. Cool, I'll tutor out a card that rips Emrakul out of your deck? Or I steal Platinum Angel and cast it? Or I take a key card like your one grapeshot out and kill your combo deck? Gonti should not be $1 man. Also, don't trash the Demonlord, I've run him in a few decks and he hits like a train when he gets going.I think Liliana is overrated, but that's just me. I feel like her price tag is just to hard to justify, like Tarmogoyf, but I've said this for years and everyone laughs at me for it. I personally love Eldritch Evolution, I just wish I could afford to run it as a deck. Like I said, I like the deck, I just personally feel like if you ran cards that are bombs like Gonti that no one preps for you could pull some surprise wins out of your hat.
I'm definitely thinking about running Gonti. I like making decks that are changes from the norm, and want to make a deck that does well. I try to look at the decks that are doing well in the colors I want to run and then see what tweaks I can make to make it my own. I truly appreciate your input :-)

Lol all of the meta spite! I'm tired of there always being the same things at tournaments. There are so many cards that could do well if people would get creative.
