Deck Description

Allies can rack up +1 +1 counters at a stupid rate, Outlasts turn +1 +1ed creatures into monsters and a Dragon who gains power as the rest of your army grows? Pretty sound strategy if you ask me.

''Me'' being a dude with no experience in competitive Modern but it's fun in casual and more than holds it's own against most official event and pre-made.

How to Play

The Outlast creatures should be treated as enchantement more than creatures. At least until you have a few hardening scales on the field. Paying 1 and tapping for 1 +1+1 counter isn't really that worth but paying 1 and tapping for 5 +1+1 counter is nuts. Even at 2 counters it starts looking pretty.

Allies are your meat. White has the 2 best Allies in the form of Hada Freeblade and Kazandu Bladesmaster. Abuse them. They have some of the best quality-cost of any sets for creatures. Oran-rief is shit but he serves as a trigger. Don't cast him if you don't have other allies on the field (unless it's an emergency or something).

Enduring Scalelord is your late game ''I won''. If you have a single hardening scale on the field, casting a ally will give him 3 counters (Hardening scales basically triggering twice). 4 HS gives him 9 counters. Assuming it's Hada, can you name any other card that can trigger a +9 +9 that is PERMANENT? Of course having two of them on the field is Good Game.

Deck discussion for Outlast Till the Dragon Come

This is pretty good! A couple cards I think you might want to look at are Ajani Steadfast, and Chronomaton. And maybe Managorger Hydra, If you are looking for a creature that can build up very quickly with counters, especially with Hardened Scales.
If you want to take a look at my +1/+1 counters deck, here is the link

Any slot that I could free for Ajani Steadfast would be better spend on Ajani Goldmane. Most of my creatures have first strike and or vigilance perma. Chronomaton is too slow. Unlike my outlast he doesn't serves as an enchantement as well.

As for Managorger Hydra... what a beauty.

I suppose that's true. I didn't realize all your outlast dudes had another ability. And I know, right?! Managorger hydra is a beast that has win me many-a-game.

I know who he is. Not worth it. Their is a white outlast who gives life links as well. They simply aren't useful to gain momentum. It sounds good but in practice when I draw them I always find myself thinking ''man I wish it was the first strike/flying/death touch dude instead''. With this deck once you get rolling the enemy while crumble. Blockers barely slow you down. Not much can slow the charge of a first Strike Death Touch Flying series of creatures.

Fair enough. Just thought I'd mention it just in case. I have a friend who thinks the same thing.
