As far as the Kor Cartographer goes I have some guys I play with that seem to think you can grab any card that has a plains in its casting cost.....You can only grab a Plains Basic land correct?

Also, what if you add celestial mantle and I can't remember the name of the other card but its from zendikar and you win the game when your life total becomes 40, it's a creature.
you're dumb if you are not 100% positive that it only grabs a plains land. It would be fucking amazing if it was any card with a plains in it. That card you are thinking of is felidar sovereign. I have played a lifegain deck like 10 times and I have been over 40 life with that out probably 6 times and my opponents kill it every time, it is very limited. Nice deck btw!
That was my thougth exactly! It makes no sense but for whatever reason they thought that.....idk.
cheffmattsmith, you are correct in saying that it can only grab a Plains, but any land that has Plains as part of its land type (i.e. the dual color lands from Ravnica) count as well (according to the Extended tournaments)

I think you should take out some of the white knights-or at least sidebord them against black decks-because you need more life gain (if you don't get the invincible hymn or mana ramp) such as angels.
