The Balrog is an awesome monster from LotR I've hoped was going to be revealed for the set. Seeing this absolute beauty of a legend, I knew I had to craft a list for it. Featuring treasures, aristocrat style gameplay, and some of the most powerful cards in red and black, this is my take on The Balrog, Durin's Bane.
Treasures and The Balrog have insane synergy, as well as aristocrat style straps, so we cram in a metric ton of both. We have sacrifices and treasures out the wazoo, so we can easily afford to use both in our attempt to summon our Commander. If The Balrog dies, it takes something with it. Basically, control the board and sacrifice stuff to whittle opponents down.
