We're talking so many lands that you literally create an entire new rainforest ecosystem on your table? Do you like big creatures based on lands? Do you like bizarre but strong legends from Kamigawa? Do you look for any excuse to dual wield Blackblade Reforged and Sword of Vengeance? Do you self mill regularly? Do you like Regrowth? Then shut the hiss up. Shigeki ain't got time for anything but his visions of Jank as far as the eye can see, and today, we're spreading these jank-infested forests across the continent.
So, I don't know if you were aware, but there be lands here. Our strategy is around lands doing land things. Creatures that are big (literally) on lands like Beanstalk Giant and Dungrove Elder? Yup. Cards that have landfall? Yup. Scute Mob? No doubt. Strata Scythe AND Blackblade Reforged? Of course. So....get lands. Produce a forest that has overwhelmed society. Enter trees.So, with general strategy discussed, let's talk about why Shigeki is secretly a master of supreme jank. Shigeki is absolutely grossly strong. He's a snek first of all. Second, you can pay 1G and bounce him to potentially ramp, which is fantastic. Third, you can Channel Shigeki to recur cards you may have self milled. So....he is potentially an engine for the deck without absolutely breaking it. You can cast, then bounce him to ramp, then channel him to regrowth cards so we can use our ramp to stomp face. Then, you can put him in the CZ as you channel, or just regrowth him back. Pretty cool, right?Finishers include Multani, Molimo, Dungrove Elder, and Beanstalk Giant with a Warhammer and/or Scythe/Blackblade, a Waker of the Wilds producing fat forest threats, Baloths on parade, Scute Mob on an Aggressive Mammoth, or a last ditch Splinterfright with Scythe/Blackblade if you can't get enough creature offense back and REALLY wanna kill a player.
