Deck Description

/* White devotion decks always seemed to have problems. Mainly that it can't make cheap good critters like mono green or red devotion. There is no creature like a burning tree available to white. So I decided that perhaps making a mono white deck that uses high amounts of mana specific creatures to help. /*

This deck was built several years ago and i am currently returning it to see what it can really do. while this deck isn't the fastest strategy it can still put a respectable amount of damage down range. pair that up with some non typical disruption and an aggressive sideboard and this deck requires more respect than many tournament players are willing to give it in the current meta.

How to Play

Plays largely like any traditional tribal aggro deck except that it runs two angles on the high end.

Go for aggro traditional strategy (play and swing) using hunter and justiciar to move larger threats out of the way. The two angels are surprisingly easy to cast off of nykthos given how fast this deck pushes devotion. staff can be used to push blockers, dodge removal or even trigger effects twice which can be incredibly good on many creatures (especially the angel).

-tocatli for spirits and etb sensitive decks.
-rest in peace for reanimator and graveyard sensitive decks.
-chalice, thalia and leyline for burn usually make it one sided.
-thalia for storm.
-chalice for chalice decks and the like. tends to catch them off guard.

any suggestions are always welcome.

Deck discussion for modern mono white humans

im not super familiar with weenies but im going to see what i can say here to help since you helped with a few of my decks. my first thing i though of when i saw the deck was hero of bladehold and noticed that you had it side-boarded. It seems like the goal of this deck game 1 as much as possible is beat-down and you side in better control cards for game 2. If that is something you can agree with i totally think you should run the hero's main-board instead of the justiciar. I see the azorius justiciar as a great card to get past a deck with a lot of blockers out which to me seems good against like zoo and probably W/B tokens. But most decks wont have enough blockers to make it a better main-board then hero of bladehold. I think hah. Make sense?

The reason I have it switched is because the justicar affects the game the turn he comes down where as the hero if bladehold must survive a turn that is sometimes called wrath mana of turn four mana which is when wrath effects come online this can make her much less likely to ever have an impact on the game than a creature that does something the turn it comes down. I like the idea though.

yeah the biggest decks i see around are usually splinter twin decks so being able to detain the creature that splinter twin will be put on before the splinter twin hits board buys me one more turn to take them out
