Themed from the realm of Bant from the Shards of Alara expansion, the Bant deck is all about exalted creatures and that one, single attacker. One point of penetrating attack, and a strong, deterring defense will brings a sure victory.
Cheap exalted creatures like Akrasan Squire are your basic building blocks for the beginning. Cards like Deft Duelist and Jhessian infiltrator, along with flying creatures and trampling creatures (Rhox Charger or a creature buffed by Bant Battlemage) will be great with all the stacked exalted. Giltspire Avenger will make anyone who wants to attack you cry, and he also has exalted! Jhessian Balmgiver is great for the unblockable, as is Jhessian Infiltrator. Battlegrace Angel and Stoic Angel are also great with the exalted theme. Quietus Spike adds some lethality and extra potency on penetrating creatures, and infiltration lens is great for those who don't! Put them both on one creature, and your opponent is stuck between a very sharp rock and a very hard place. Last but not least, Finest Hour, while not in the Shards of Alara expansion, is just too good to pass up. Note that the exalted will stack from the first round of attacking, so the second round will be double exalted!Note that cards in the sideboard are either cards I decided not to use or cards that I really wanted to but were just to expensive. So if you have the budget for it, be sure to include some of those cards!
