one of the first commander decks i every played against was back in the spring 2015 and one of the players played his odor life gain deck that features absurd amounts of life gain and he would often end up at over 5K life and it was typically only a matter of time before he drew felidar and won. he broke down his deck for me once and it contained very little blue, mainly effects like clever impersonator and copy enchantment to be used on boon. since then, many new toys have been added to life gains arsenal, many of which i already possess, so i am aiming to build an ayli commander deck, heavily inspired by my friends odor deck
the name of the game is life gain!the low land base may look troubling but it is all that is needed because over a third of the deck casts for 3 mana or less and cards like crypt ghost can help with the rest. use said low costed spells to slowly gain life and avoid making enemies by playing passively in the early game. just ramp up your life and amass creatures. once you have a ton of life, start exiling pesky permanents with ayli. other cards in the deck also start become strong or outright win convictions. get to insane amounts of life with combos life wall of reverence and serra avatar, especially with boon or faith mender (or both)on the field, to amass absolutely absurd amounts of life. said life can be used to fuel a toxic deluge and wipe the board, kill opponents instantly with aetherflux, swing with a massive serra avatar, or win the game immediately with felidar sovereign. The deck is very self centers and only features minimal ways to stop opponents with standard black and white removal options. the idea is to quickly reach your victory faster than any opponent can reach theirs, and it has just enough tools to slow down opponents to help. the good thing about this deck is it come with several win con cards so even if one is countered, it is only a matter of time before another is reached
