Deck Description

This is a mill/control deck, which means you need to put the entire opponent's library into his/her graveyard while dominating the game with your spells.

This is how you win.

This deck's weakness is it isn't very fast early game. A goblin deck could wipe you out before you even get to start.

So be prepared.

How to Play

This deck is supposed to mill them as fast as possible.

Use the creatures primarily for stalling, you must play with or against this deck cautiously, even if you have a pair of Pelakka Wurms (from the shapeshifters) and they have none. You just need to mill them, but if you think you can win by force, go right ahead.

Use Increasing Ambition and Disciple of Deceit to get the right cards to pull off any combo you like.

You are most likely to win using mill combos. Here are a few ideas:

1. Szadek, Lord of Secrets + Aqueous form. This combo can win the game in only 3 or 4 turns, by milling them into oblivion. Use your Psychic Strike to protect him from removal. Only downside is he CAN still die from removal if you have no Psychic Strikes, plus Szadek is very expensive. Use Nemesis of Reason instead for the same combo for less mana.

2. Nemesis of Reason + Consuming Aberration. Have Nemesis of Reason attack each turn and Consuming Aberration will get ridiculously powerful ridiculously fast. This combo can kill an opponent by mill or by damage very quickly. Only weakness is, again, removal. Add Aqueous Form to either creature to make the game end that much faster.

3. Phenax, God of Deception + Any Creature(s): Phenax is one of the fastest ways to mill someone, especially when you have some creatures. This is only susceptible to mass removal, so keep those Psychic Strikes handy. Combine this guy with Consuming Aberration, and you can mill faster than you thought possible.

P.S: The sideboard is only so you can augment the deck to suit your tastes, NOT for specific situations like most sideboards should be. I apologize if that was what you are looking for.

You said that you aren't good at making decks and you are newbie?
Well, this looks much better than what average newbie usually does. It has everything in its place, except -as you said- the early game. This can be fixed by adding more low-costed cards and removing the more mana-priceful ones. I could suggest adding at least Shriekgeist, which is low-costed flier that can also mill your opponent. Mindshrieker is another beefy early-gamer.

But as I said, this deck is done pretty well. Definitely worth of +1 like.

Agreed. It is a very good start for a newbie. It shows a lot of potential. I do agree about the lack of cards that cost 1 mana. But that is just nit-picking.

Solid suggestion, for what he is trying to do in the deck.

I completely forgot about him. I'll incorporate him soon. I'm just making another deck at the moment.
