The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

The samurai were the first Magic cards I ever bought, and when I returned to Magic after quite a number of years of not playing it, the samurai were my first (and only) choice for building a deck around. I would really like to have this built into 3 different decks built around 3 different ideas. The first deck being this hybrid red and white, the second being a mono white, and the third being a mono red, all built around samurai, samurai/shaman, or samurai/spirit.

How to Play

With Konda's Hatamoto receiving buffs from Legendary samurai in play, and the general idea that the legendary samurai also tend to give other samurai boosts (bushido sharing and bonuses to power/toughness), keeping the Hatamoto and Legendary creatures alive is the main focus. The Battle-Mad Ronin serve as a low-drop harass, forcing the other player to engage or lose life, but they can get infuriating if you have only 1 in play at a time. The enchants and instants focus on control of the other player's creatures, Cage of Hands being the most useful against a trouble maker, and Crushing Pain being immensely helpful in dispatching powerful creatures or in removing your own creatures to bring up Promise of Bunrei sooner. The exceptions are Candles' Glow and Promise of Bunrei - the former's usefulness is obvious, and the latter is incredibly helpful for building up a wall of colorless defenders/harassers. Up against a dredge or undying deck (or any troublesome creatures that refuse to stay in the graveyard), the shamans and Yamabushi's Flames can quickly undermine the enemy by removing them from play. I am generally inexperienced with Magic at the moment, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
