Deck discussion for EDH-Brion Stoutarm

You might take another look at your lands... I counted 19 of them that "enter the battlefield tapped." I think that will really slow you down. From my experience, when your commander is only two colors, don't worry so much about the dual colored lands if they enter the battlefield tapped. I'd take some of them out and put basic lands in. Do you really need Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds in a two colored deck? Again, it will just slow you down. Plus, with more Mountains and Plains in the deck, your Clifftop Retreat is more likely to enter the battlefield untapped.

You MUST add Sundial of the infinite!!!! You have 7 "gain control until end of turn spells" which I understand you want to steal opponents creature and then Throw it at them. But with Sundial of the Infite, you can steal their creature, and then end your turn... that means you SKIP YOUR END PHASE therefore the "until end of turn" never gets a chance to trigger! you keep their creature permantly! If you are gonna run 7 of those spells, you really should find room for that cheap costing artifact! The Sundial will also keep those creatures like Ball lighting form being sacrificed at your end phase, again because you are skipping that phase!

Other options are "Act of Aggression" "Word of Seizing" it is another "gain control" spell you might have missed.

Also, the artifact "Helm of Possession" is another tricky thing to do to creatures you are stealing.

Finally, "Bazaar Trader" gives you permanent control of their creatures too. You play "Act of Treason" like spell, steal their creature, then tap Bazaar Trader and THE PLAYER YOU TARGET IS YOURSELF. That way, even though the Act of Treason like ability wears off at end of turn, the Bazaar Trader's ability is permanent!

Those are great suggestions. Word of seizing would rock if it cost 4 (then cast it from library using Sunforger). I think i dropped it and Act just to trim things down. I might find out I need those other options in here as well and fewer of my own creatures. I have a feeling that more than 8 "gain control" spells (counting blind with anger) would be better with 6 players, but more of my own creatures would be better with 3 players.

I had some ruling questions as well:
1 - does Sword of Paruns on Brion give +2 to a creature that he sacks since he taps?
2 - does gaining control of an opponents creature cause Purphoros damage to go off?

thanks again

1) Sword of Paruns works the way you want it to...But there might be a better, more efficient option.
2) Purphoros' damage does not go off, because when you steal a creature, a creature is not entering the battlefield.

If you wanted to leave creatures in for 3 player games, but still wanted to add those other gain control spells, I would take out Blood Lust and Blood Frenzy. But that is just me...

yeah, single use damage used in this way for commander is not good. I need to rework the instants some more.
