Deck Description

This is my current deck.. If you're asking yourselfs why I don't have 2 or more Sliver Queens guess what.. It costs.. a lot... I take any suggestions (except that one I managed to buy one by not lunching for a week and saving my lunch money. I'll not do that again for a card)ahah

Amoeboid is in here for a reason... use amoeboid changeling's first ability and overlord's last ability= own a creature. Cool isn't it?

EDIT: (2-1-2011)
Remove Coat of Arms, Add Quest for Renewal

EDIT: (3-1-2011)
Remove Urza's Incubator, Add Gemhide Sliver

EDIT: (6-1-2011)
Remove Sidewinder Sliver, Add Burgeoning

EDIT (8-1-2011)
Remove Victual Sliver, Add Heart Sliver

Now you have to be careful when playing with Crystalline Sliver as it will automatically cancel out any Sliver affect with the words "Target Sliver". I have one in mine and have removed all "Target" affects from the deck.

I think that with only one crystalline it dosen't justify the removal of crypt or magma sliver... But I see your point....

Crystalline also cancels Overlord's second effect, meaning Amoeboid kinda loses meaning.

I didn't remind that one... But still

I'd throw in a couple ashnod's alter's and some heartstones if your not worried about legality. Sliver queen+ alter+ heartstone= infinate slivers;)

I already have heartstone but in this deck there aren't many creatures with cost for abilities so... I had that combo when I was playing heartstone with sliver queen+gemhide sliver+heartstone. So, this deck already has the ability to make the combo if I throw in heartstone but it's not really effective for the reason I said before, so I won't do it.. Hey but thanks for the hint, appreciate it!

If you really wanted to, instead of basic lands, you could use Vivid lands (Vivid Grove, etc.). It'd obviously raise the deck cost, but it'd help in pulling out multicolored Slivers or help stop dead draws.

Also, I'm not sure about this, but don't Hunter Sliver and Shifting Sliver counteract each other, if both are on the field?
And Urza's Incubator only affects: Dormant Sliver, Homing Sliver, Might Sliver, Toxin Sliver, Fungus Sliver, and Shifting Sliver, correct?
7 Targets, in a deck of 60 (Though Homing obviously increases the odds of you getting such cards)
I ~might~ take out Urza's Incubator for a Gemhide? IDK. Or just for giggles, add Door To Nothingness. >:D

I have vivid lands but coming taped, only bringing two mana of any colour and then becoming a normal land.... Meh.... Thank for suggesting the removal of urza's incubator for a gemhide I think I'll do it because of the number of cards it affects and the price... thank you!
And hunter sliver says that I MAY have defending player untap a creature and block... So...

Personally, I don't like Dormant Sliver either, because of Defender and Slivers are an aggressive-type. But that's just me. I'd put in a Gemhide over it, but it does give you draw power. However, its your choice.

At first sight I had the same impression as you, but after playing it a few times it really advances my game and when I'm done I can either sacrifice it to necrotic or acidic or just block a bigger creature...
Thanks for the comment...

Nice deck. I like it. good mana curve and synergy. The only problem i see is that with only 1 of almost all of these, its gonna be hard to get your best combos out. but then again, every game would be very different. so it could be a good choice a well, depending on how you look at it.

Hey with sliver the combos are just a good plus, they aren't really necessary, still I've been lucky to pull the amoeboid overlord sometimes, if the game gets that far....

ya. ive seen sliver decks done like this and done with only a few of the sliver combos that appeared to be the best. they both have their pros and cons.

Nice deck
My friend built a sliver deck and it's close to unbeatable
I got a platinum angel on him and he STILL won

He used Harmonic Sliver's effect on me, because platinum angel is technically an Artifact

yeah harmonic sliver is awesome but I not playing agains anyone using artifacts at the moment ( I only play casual) but it's a good sideboard card

Thank you to all people that have made this a better deck or commented on it.. This one's ours! :-)

The only two recommendations I have for this deck are since it's a creature based deck, I would throw in either a semblance anvil, or a cloud key to lessen the cost's of your creature spells so you can play more in one turn, or attack with unused ones when you have gemhide out.

Oh and distant melody is a nice draw card if you ever need more cards in your hand. Especially for this type of deck.

I had urza's incubator but there aren't many creatures affected by the card in this deck..

Usually I don't run out of cards and when I do the game will be close to an end, so distant melody really isn't necessary.. I have one but ... If it was cheaper (in mana cost not money) maybe, but 4 is too much

Normally i would say that you should cut back and use 4 of's of the best slivers you think you have, but i could see this working out as well. I have a sliver deck also and have played both ways (1 of's versus play sets), but i just like having play sets of slivers better. Actually it's sort of both ways now that i think about it, but i plan on getting more playsets of cards.

Gemhides, and Heart Slivers are definite 4 of's though IMO. It's awesome being able to play slivers and use them as mana to play more slivers right away, and use those to play more slivers....haha. That's where distant melody comes in too. With Gemhide's you can play them fairly easily.

If you could look at any of my decks (my sliver, and/or my landfall in particular) that would be great!

0

The only sliver I may have the playset is gemhide for the reasons you said, I want various abilities, so I want various slivers... With homing sliver and overlord I can get which ever I need ( that's why I have 2 homing slivers)

Why hand't I ever thought of Burgeoning... It's going to speed up my game so much.. awesome card

a couple comments. Have you considered: pulmonic sliver so you can keep your best slivers on the field, darksteel sliver for the same reason, telekinetic sliver is awesome for a splash of control. and essence sliver.

0
Posted 07 January 2011 at 06:57

First Pulmonic and telekinetic sliver costs are too high and use two of the same mana (the two I have the least) I can't find darksteel sliver and essence was initially in this deck but again 4 mana, although its a good card I don't find that slivers should do that, I mean at this moment I'm thinking whether or not to take victual sliver out

0

I would take the dormant sliver because it gives you slivers defender so you can do much with them and if you want you could put in mana echos

0

Man, at first sight it doesn't seem much, bu believe me, after having played it several times it proves itself an superb card which can give you the drawing power you may need ( that's why I don't have Distant Melody ) and when you're done with it sacrifice it to acidic or necrotic sliver, or block a bigger creature

Very nice. Slivers are my favorite cards in the whole MTG universe. Have you considered throwing a Ward Sliver in there? That, in addition to a Crystalline Sliver, could make your Slivers pretty invincible. :D Would you mind checking my Sliver deck out and giving me your opinion?

0

Mine too man just so powerful.... I mean I haven't lost once since I play this.... My friends are going nuts, saying things like "you didn't make that you copied it from the net!" , so it's great fun...

I wouldn't put ward sliver in this deck because that affects my slivers too so if I would choose green they wouldn't get +2/+2 from might sliver for example....

I already have crystalline it's essential....

And of course I'll take a look at your deck, you have taken the time to watch mine so....

0
Posted 15 January 2011 at 15:57

Wow, I did not know that about the Ward Sliver. I thought that when it gains protection from a color (say green again) that it couldn't be the target of green abilities. So even though the +2/+2 isn't "targeting" per se, the other Slivers wouldn't receive that bonus? What about protection from red, would the Slivers not get haste from Heart Sliver, etc? If that's the case then I'm glad I found you on here. :) I may have to re-work my deck now... Hmm.
