Deck Description

Try to get as many elves out on the field and pump them with imperious perfect and joraga warcaller. Keep your life high with wellwisher, and taunting elf for the win. If you don't kill them quick there is promenade for token overload and genesis wave to call out more elves.

This deck should also work well in multiplayer with my friends merfolk control-

Deck discussion for Quick Elves get pumped up.

Alright. Good deck. The way I went with the Back to Basics elf deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=256789, take a look) was to generate huge amounts of mana and then sink them into Ezuri or a huge Joraga Warcaller. This makes Taunting Elf unnecessary, as you can just trample over them for the win. In an aggro deck, Wellwisher should generally be unnecessary.
There are many ways to go with an elf deck. This looks fine.

Essence Warden is a faster replacement for Wellwisher, that's if you want to keep the lifegain. It's faster for to reasons - 1) It costs less mana, 2) it works immediately as it doean't nees to tap to attack.

If you want to rely on the Warcaller and tokens for the win condition, there are a few cards I can suggest:
1) Heritage Druid - This cards provides a MAJOR mana boost that can be used to kick Warcaller A LOT.
2) Bramblewood Paragon - Warcaller and the tokens are warriors, so they'd get a +1/+1 counter from Bramblewood and as long as Bramblewood's in play, they'll all have trample :p
3) Ezuri, Renegade Leader - if you do use Heritage Druid with tokens, Ezuri is almost a must. I've once summoned enough tokens in one turn with Heritage to summon an Ezuri, activate his built in 'Overrun' 4 times and attacked with 2 13/13 trampling Llanowar Elves :D

I second the suggestion of Bramblewood Paragon, the dude's amazing.

I personally have never liked Imperious Perfect, Wellwisher, Taunting Elf (to a lesser extent), or Timberwatch. Perfect is much slower than any of the other elf 'lords', Timberwatch is a catch-22 where if you have a ton of elves, there's no reason to pump up just one and swing, and Wellwisher is also quite slow.

Wellwisher is not the same as Essence Warden, and might even be the better of the two for life gain...but overall neither is necessary.

If you want to go with an elf token swarm, you're going to need more than just Promenade. I would suggest Lys Alana Huntsmaster and Wolf-skull Shaman. Both allow you to spew out tokens at insane rates. Yeah the Wolf-Skull makes wolf tokens, but tokens are tokens, and those things get out of hand fast.

Elvish Archdruid is so good for elf decks that I'd almost call it a requirement, ESPECIALLY for elf token decks. In no time you'll have a stupid amount of mana available. I think that's it...Hope I helped! =]
