Deck Description

This is a creature-heavy Extort deck, designed to bleed your opponent dry, while not draining your wallet. Most creatures have converted mana cost of 2 or less to increase the usability of Immortal Servitude. Liliana is in the deck for the same reason Crypt Ghasts are: to increase your mana pool for Extorts. Sanguine Bond makes Extorts hit that much harder. This is designed as a budget deck and I know Godless Shrines aren't exactly cheap, so they can be replaced with Orzhov Guildgates to lower the cost.

How to Play

Basically get your Extort creatures out and start Extorting. As the game progresses, you'll get more cards to make your Extorts that much more deadly. Since there are a limited number of spells vs creature spells, it's wise to get your Extorts in whenever possible. I have 2 of certain cards (instead of 4) because getting those cards at the wrong time can be bad, so 2 are really all that's needed.

Now to talk about my sideboard. The main deck has Doom Blades, so if my opponent is playing black, I'll swap in the Orzhov Charms. Ratchet Bombs and Illness in the Ranks are there to deal with token decks. I could go 4 of one or 4 of the other. I went 2/2 because it gives you the option whether you want an enchantment or artifact. Cremates are there to deal with graveyard, flashback, or undying decks.

Deck discussion for 2-Drop Budget Extort

Some people might ask why I don't have Orzhov Charms in the deck. They were in my original deck, but I took them because there were better cards. When M13 goes out of standard, then I'll revisit adding them back in, possibly replacing Murder and/or Sign in Blood. Although Sign in Blood will probably be replaced with Blood Scrivener.
