Deck Description

I always try to make a fun deck for casual play on budget, roughly around $30 if possible. This is a fungus deck I designed that should run rather smoothly, without being too strong or underpowered (not trying to dominate my opponent's here or finish them off in 3 turns). I personally prefer decks that fuel themselves in a sense, a tribal theme rather than a single combo that wins you the game. The entire deck has a strong synergy, and I wanted it to take on most other decks and have a response to common problems you might encounter. At the end of the day, it's a fun deck that can be played in multiple ways and I hope you enjoy it!

How to Play

The deck is rather simple: The fungus cards produce spore counters which later can be used to create sapling tokens. Some of the fungus cards such as Utopia Mycon and Savage Thallid can sacrifice those sapling tokens for beneficial effects like producing mana and regenerating one of your fungus creatures respectively. Sporesower Thallid and Sporoloth Ancient are key cards as they ramp up the rate at which you can produce the sapling tokens. Deathspore Thallid allows you to deal with your opponent's creatures in an effective manner, while Mycoloth becomes a giant monster later on that will continue to produce saplings for you turn after turn. Druid's Deliverance and Sundering Growth are ideal instants for any green deck that will also populate your tokens, while Descendant's Path is a fantastic way of getting out some of your larger Fungus creatures in a faster manner. Thelon of Havenwood, while not a Fungus himself, rightfully holds a place in this deck as he gives you an alternative way to play the deck: Rather than swarm your opponent with good Fungus creatures and an army of Saplings, you could opt to leave the spore counters on your Fungus and have them all become giant monsters for your opponent to deal with.
