Deck Description

I played this deck at a Classic Pauper event at Gatherling.com and won the event going 5-0. Classic Pauper for those of you who may not know, is the Classic format where only Commons are legal. Gatherling.com is a Player Run Event (PRE) site that uses Magic: The Gathering Online (MTGO) to play the matches. So anyone anywhere in the world can play in these events as long as you have an MTGO account. You can download Wizard's MTGO software and get an account by going here:

www.mtgonline.com

This was a league style event where each player is allowed to play each other player once. You get 3 points for a win and -1 points for a loss. Whoever has the most points at the end wins the event.

Here is the Event's Metagame:

If you want to get a good look at the current MTGO Pauper Daily Meta, here is a link to a bot I created that automatically compiles all the deck lists and analyses the decks that go 4-0 or 3-1:

How to Play

Basically you want to start out the game hitting your opponents with as much discard as possible. The sooner you get them to an empty hand the better. Once you deplete your opponents hand you then start hitting on the creature control and clear the board. You use Alter's Reap and Sign in Blood to keep your hand full. And finally you finish the game with a Corrupt or two to your opponents face.

I will put a better description of how to play later along with descriptions of the sideboard choices and where I use them. Again, I have a limited amount of time right now. Just wanted to get my first deck entered and contribute to the community.

Sideboard Card Explanations:

Ulamog's Crusher:
This may seem like a strange sideboard choice, but this may be your your best hope of beating White Weenie and Hexproof Aura decks that use Circle Of Protection: Black.

Diabolic Edict:
This card is used against Infect and Stompy decks to get around Vines of Vastwood, and Against Hexproof Aura decks.

Echoing Decay:
MBC already has a pretty fair game against Storm decks with the discard and other manipulation, but I add this in as well after side since Grasp of Darkness and Geth's Verdict are all but dead cards. It is also useful against Goblin decks sometimes since they use a lot of 4 of cards.

Wail of the Nim:
I use this against Stompy, Goblins, Infect, White Weenie and Hexproof Aura decks. Against WW it may be the best way of removing War Falcon and more importantly Squadron Hawk. It is also useful at surviving all out assaults against Goblin decks to save your creatures to block again.

Shrivel:
Again this has application against White Weenie, Infect, Stompy, Goblins, Storm, and Hexproof Aura decks.
