The basic point of this deck is to boost your defense and stay alive until you can get out an Assault Formation. After that, use heavy hitters like Wall of Ice, Skinshifter, and anything equipped with Slagwurm Armour to simultaneously beat down your opponent and still have defensive creatures if they try to mount a counterattack. If you aren't quick to draw Assault Formation, use a Tutor to find one. Worst case scenario, you cant get one at all and use either Wolfbriar Elemental (particularly good when combined with Overgrown Battlements) or Feed the Pack (best when sacrificing a creature using Slagwurm Armour).

Really appreciate the help! Perimeter Captain and Stalwart Shield-Bearer really improve the deck and I've been looking for an excuse to use Helix Pinnacle in something. Opted to skip Warmonger's Chariot though, since I really need Assault Formation for its first ability more than its second.
Either I missed "Wakestone Gargoyle" or it was added afterwards, "Warmonger's Chariot" was just to add another card that lets one of your defenders attack (Just trying to imagine how a Tree of Redemption hops into Warmonger's Chariot and speeds towards it's enemy's ;) HOOOR...wait trees can't talk...MMMMMMMPPPPHHH)Another card that does the same as "Assault Formation"'s static ability would be "Doran, the Siege Tower" tough that one isn't tutorable.
Doran the Siege Tower is good and he's also what I based this deck on, but he's also tricoloured and I don't really want to stretch the deck to that.
Wall of Omens is a nice one to toss in. Cheap early game wall that replaces itself.
