Deck Description

This deck was inspired by: Turn 1 Win - Infect B/R by blackfyre73.

http://www.mtgvault.com/blackfyre73/decks/turn-1-win-infect-br/

While reading through his deck it just seemed too rare to be able to get the combination needed to win.

This deck needs less cards to make it work.

The entire goal of this deck is to get out a glistener elf with haste then make it swing for 10.

- The two flavors of turn 1 win options:
10/10 infect combo
--- glistener elf + hammerhand + groundswell +groundswell (or might of old Krosa)
5/5 infect double strike combo
--- glistener elf + crimson wisps + groundswell + assault strobe (grants access to 1 more card in your first turn, making it possible to win even if you go first.)

The are multiple paths to getting a turn 1 win, but the one necessity is having 4 mana available, meaning the following cards must be in your hand:
Land, Memnite and Infernal plunge

To get 4 mana, you need a Memnite or another 0 mana cost creature du jour. So that you can sacrifice it to infernal plunge. This gets your mana up to 3. The 4th mana comes from removing simian spirit guide.

Gitaxian probe (paying with life) and mana morphose are net 0 mana and replace themselves, so if you are missing a card for the combo you can use these to try to fish that card up. In other words, if I had my choice, this deck would run between 52 and 54 cards, and allow the deck to behave that way at the cost of essentially starting with 12 life instead of 20.

Deck discussion for Turn 1 Win - Infect G/R

Interesting. Why take out street wraith?

Street Wraith doesn't do anything towards the main goal of the deck. It would require me to add a source of black mana to play it, unless I only use the cycling ability. But for that Gitaxian probe is better as I get another benefit from it.

Street Wraith is probe 5-8, but it seems like you are slowly cutting both. While this can turn 1 kill, it is more likely to be pulled of in the other version.
How's it been playing?

I took out the Gitaxian probes in favor of Inkmoth Nexus which I had completely forgotten about. I would like to remove them completely to add another card that performs the same as simian spirit guide, granting a single mana to start the turn.

You should put in that Elf Spirit Guide that gives 1G like Simian.
