Deck discussion for Devotion to Rakdos

Maybe take out a swamp and add a temple?

I've been waiting to see Cryptborn Horror get put into a deck XD Seems brutally straightforward (which is a good thing for rakdos)

My only constructive criticisms are questioning the use of the god weapons. The whip is good, but I think just focusing on using the may serve this deck better - not to mention adding some more burn spells for removal and direct player damage. It'll help the cryptborn and give you some more finishers, as well as helping to keep the enemy field clear.

Just my two cents :)

I'm trying to keep as many permanents as possible as to add to the devotion needs, although I do agree that I should add in another burn spell or two

This looks really fun to play. I was surprised when you mentioned a T4 devotion, great move. I would like to see another Whip in exchange for the Hammer, great synergy with the Gray Merchant/Fanatic. Speaking of which... have you had a chance to play test with with that many Merchants? Sideboard a few Duress or Thoughtseize could be good for those pesky blue decks or board wipes. Love the deck.

If you have a chance, could you take a look at one of my decks and provide some feedback? I would appreciate it.

hmm idk about the whip actually...the whole point of a deck like this is to win as fast as you can before they can recover and i feel like the whip counteracts that by trying to get the life gain. just my thoughts though! Check out my new deck?

Oh I meant using it's activated ability with Fanatic and Merchant! However I can see the benefit from the Hammer and haste for the fast-play. I'll check out that deck for ya.

That turn four thing is 19 damage. They live by one. However it's a very nice concept and mogis will get them if they have no creatures

I check the comments of a deck that catches my eye and WHO the fuck do I see? XDDD

No they don't. If I get it right, Mogis checks for a player to have 7 symbols of either Black or Red, which means he comes into play as a creature with haste from the Hammah. (1 Cackler + 2 Jester + 2 Hammah + 2 God him self)

1st turn Cackler unleashed 2/2
2nd turn Jester 3/1 + haste, swing for 5
3rd turn Hammah, swing for 5, 10 total
4th turn God, swing for 12, 22 total + 2 from the God at opponent's upkeep

Doesn't count toward grey merchant devotion, and it's hard to get 2 red t2

true it wont help with grey merchant, but she helps with fanatic of mogis and is good against agro match ups, wont trigger Soldier of panthyon and can block it (it also has 1st strike) Id even think to drop it down to two or to even nothing, that way you can drop to about 22 lands drop the hammer in the side board run two whips (gain life that way) have the 4 zealots in there as another strong 2 drop, mad cap skills on a zealot is B.A turn 3. I also like to run more 4 "ofs" in a deck , but This is your deck tho just a suggestion and i do like seeing cryptborn horror in a deck finally. Good luck I hope it plays well for ya

Fun-looking deck, very nice! I've got the same sort of thing running, only less aggro (i.e. slower buildup) and half as expensive. Works like a charm though.

Hero's downfall is better than Dreadbore. It's all about that instant speed bro. Deviant Glee is a good enchantment to look into, as well as underworld connections to make sure you don't run out of steam. As for the sideboard seems how you only have 6 cards anyway, go to at least 3 on the slaughter games. You'll want durress and/or thoughtseize for control matchups, and hell why not get Rakdos himself up in here? he's better than Cryptborn Horror by a longshot. Also get a 4th temple man!

I can see how Cryptborn horror works in this deck..Though its extremely situational.

Anyways, Havoc Festival?

he would need more burn for cryptborn horror

Maybe a singleton of Exava? Give you another double-devotion booster and another way to get haste out of most of your creatures that don't already have it (Cackler, Flailer, and Cryptborn). One Exava and one Hammer would be a good mix, I think.

Love the idea, though!

First thought is +2 magma jet -2 lightning strike main board as scry2 is just too good. -1 grey merchant and -1 fanatic +2 desiccation demon. I would also add a playset of thoughtsieze to the sideboard for stupid control mashups. I really like the deck and will soon be posting mine born of the gods rakdos. I like the overall idea! Good job!
