This deck was originally suppose to be a deck with deathtouch creature and an enchantment or creature that gave them all first strike. I found it to slow and painful to make work but just as I was about to give up, a thought stuck me, "slivers". Then I just need to find a way to fetch the slivers I needed and keep them alive in the face of removal. Gaveborn solved all my problems. Thus this deck was born.
Ideally you want Manaweft/Gemhide, Striking and Venom in your opening hand. Play Striking and Venom for defense because as soon as you lay your first sliver everyone will usually start attacking you. Turn 3 ramp with Manaweft/Gemhide. Use Buried alive and Entomb to get anything else you need. You can finish the game by having Manaweft/Gemhide, Basal, Heart and Queen in play for infinite Slivers and mana. Necrotic Sliver will help you get around anything. I put a lot of the other slivers in for fun and to keep thing interesting when I don't want to go for the combo win.
