How to Play

You have your basic mana ramp with Avacyn's Pilgrim and a bit of cannon fodder with Timberpack Wolves. The main concept and play style of this deck revolves around the combination of Trostani, Rhox Faithmender, Tree of Redemption, Essence of the Wild then Feed the Pack (in that order). Once you get Trostani and Rhox Faithmender out the game is yours pretty much. After those cards are out in that order you play Tree of Redemption and gain 26 Life. Then play Essence of Wild and after that drop Feed the Pack and sacrifice Tree of Redemption to get 13 2/2 wolf tokens that will actually enter as copys of Essence of the Wild so they will be 6/6 which inturn will boost your life total up by 156!!! and if Parallel Lives is out you can scratch out that 156 and double it up to 312!! By then your opponent should have thrown his or her cards up into the air in disgust and walked out of the room securing the win for you.

**To add insult to injury, if you can drop 2 Tree of Redemptions before Essence of the Wild you can swap your life total and use Sheltering Word to gain even more insane amounts of life.

Deck discussion for New Take on Standard Selesnya

Really like this idea, even though playing Essence is a tricky ball game. I think the nature of this deck and the very specific way it needs to be played probably make it pretty hard to win consistently with, but its one that's hard to stop once it gets going. Since you have so much life gain and tokens popping up I'd consider taking out Intangible Virtue or Builder's Blessing (as you don't really need the extra boost) and add some removal/fog. Perhaps Rootborn Defenses to Verdict-proof your creatures?

Thank you for pointing that out to me I was looking for a card that did exactly or gave hexproof to all creatures but had a brain fart I guess and overlooked it.

I believe a few isolated chapels and woodland cemeteries will be added in then.

And ill probably replace my playset of timberpack Wolves with a playset of the guildmage.

I really like this deck, how do you think it is for someone relatively new to the game?

It has good tempo and not too many mechanics to worry about. The only thing you have to be good at is adding because your life total will be constantly going up.

Do you think it would be benificial to remove one Essence of the wild? Four of them seems a little much.

The only issue I see with this deck is not having enough mana. But it looks like it would be a pain in the ass to kill if it started moving. Nice deck!
