Deck Description

When you just don’t have time to sit around and wait, you rely on Haste to speed things up. This deck takes the Haste mechanic to the extreme and the result has been a surprisingly versatile mono-red deck for Standard (as of day of writing.)

The trick with “In A Hurry” is to quickly accumulate upwards of six red lands in order to efficiently cast the mid-range red spells that make this deck fly. Most aggressive decks can encounter mild resistance which can force a game to progress ever so slowly, but surely towards victory. “In A Hurry” avoids this by preventing creatures from blocking using creatures like Fervent Cathar and Goblin Shortcutter, among others. While this deck may prove slightly temperamental at times, it is for the most part a very well-behaving deck, mostly due to the total of 22 red lands in this deck, making mana draw very reliable. (now reduced to 20 after further testing)
In a mono-coloured such as this, the total amount of mana can be reduced, sometimes down to eighteen.

How to Play

I generally throw out all the small creatures (Bellows and Arsonist) as light blockers until I have enough mana to play at least three mid-range creatures with Haste whereby I manage to sweep past the defenses of my opponent (who's by now saturated with many tapped creatures and a heavy blocker or two) using the block prevention mechanic I've built in. This usually enables me to take first blood at a whopping 6 life or more.
Depending on the opponent's play, I may just play by give-some take-some styles on a turn by turn basis, then stop them from blocking using Nightbird's Clutches and go for the win when they are tapped out.

Deck discussion for In A Hurry (Outta My Way!)

Oh ho! I love the idea of spamming 'Creatures can't block' :)
Never seen a deck played like this before (Mostly because I only play with a small group of friends)

Btw, there's only 58 cards in the deck, might wanna fill up the gaps :)

He could easily fill it up with Pyre Heart Wolves, they help more than you would think!

Absolutely, I LOVE my wolves! But chances are I'm either dead or the opponent is by the time they come in handy. I'd need to run 4 to make it practical. However, they were the first things I added to my DGM Gruul Intro Pack when I got it. Now it kinda resembles a cross between this and Jund Midrange (without the black.)

Alright, with the introduction of Shortcutter into M14, I'm going to look into some things I can do to make this deck just that much more fun to play, thanks all!

Absolutely, I LOVE my wolves! With that undying to keep them around, they could be very tasty in here. Thanks all!

Okay, taking your advice to heart by filling in those gaps and improving the sheer speed of the deck, it now looks more like a creature-heavy Red Deck Wins. But I LIKE it! Thanks, these suggestions have been a HUGE help. I had just gotten back onto improving this deck when I came across my older version here. Forgot it even existed, actually. But thanks again anyway, you've all been a sure help.
