Deck Description

Working on a Boros version of Ponza.

The deck name came from an amusing conversation with a friend. I was chatting to him about this deck and he made the comment "reverse ramp for the opponent." in reference to the land destruction cards.

How to Play

Primary idea is to use Flagstones of Trokair or Cascading Cateracts to mitigate the down side of Boom or to turn Cleansing Wildfire into a ramp spell. Talisman should also help in ramping into the 4 mana planeswalkers.
All three also help mitigate Bust, if you ever get a chance to cast it.

While ramping and buying time "reverse ramping" the opponent, you should be able to get one of the 4 mana planeswalkers out and start ticking them up to their ultimate. Acolyte of Flame can help accelerate into their ultimates and also helps recast Cleansing Wildfire; Pillage; or Anger of the Gods, if need be.

In short, ramp and "reverse ramp" into big planeswalkers to win through their ultimates.

Deck discussion for Boros Reverse Ramp

I recently had a series covering a similare deck.
Search for the decktag: wdm prison

I think the one named "pillage prison" will be closest in design.

I used both nahiri and ajani together and ajani did bring a ponza feel to the deck and was very efficient.
Both walkers work beautiful when coupled.

Since the deck is a hybrid between prison moon and death and taxes, it's pretty fast and aggressive and can lock down the mana taxes style or through the moon. One variant featured the flagstones, and it's the plan to make it part of the deck as well.

All the variants I made were meant to be merged into the best possible master deck as evolution can produce, but the project is currently paused.

Simian spirit guide got banned...

But, nice seeing you again :)

I'm aware how good Ajani Vengeant is in this type of deck. I have a deck based around ramping (through Talisman and it's like) into Ajani and Chandra, Torch of Defiance and using Chandra, Acolyte of Flame to accelerate into their ultimates. This deck is kind of a progression of that, and I wanted to try the Nahiri, the Harbinger + Emrakul, the Aeons Torn package.

Sad on the Simian Spirit Guide banning. I was actually planning on ordering a set.

Glad to be back. Hope to stick around a bit longer this time :D

The place has seen a lot of old members recently, and I think corona is behind it.
Theres also a bunch of newcomers.

The two most active formats at the moment are EDH and Historic.

I still do my old stuff.

Lol, neither formats that I play. Never got into EDH, and Arena doesn't run on my laptop nor on my cell.

I'll likely still post Standard, Pioneer, amd Modern brews.

I'm watching arena, and running experiments with modern, when the corona is over I'll go for competitive modern, but so far I'm training on the 2018 modern meta with 64 decks. Mostly because I no longer have access to a public printer to print out the current meta, but I am keeping track of things.

And the one down voting me is a troll I've promised not to hunt anymore.

You can read about that by searching for the decktag: wdm troll
