Deck discussion for Elf-Warrior Punch!

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.... It would do well in this deck

You'd think so, but by the time I have enough devotion for it to be worthwhile, I normally don't have a need for the excess mana. Either I have nothing to play, or I'm already winning.

Yeah you do raise a valid point... Other than that Savage Summoning? Protect your nastier elves from counters?

Why is everyone so scared of counter spells? This deck has so many threats that having one of them countered isn't that much of a problem.

Eh it's more of a protection thing, having your Worldspine Wurm countered when you pulled off a turn 3 cast kinda opens your eyes and gets you thinking about protecting your creatures. You're right though your elves are quite interchageable with one another.

Then again if you wanted to protect your creatures all you have to do is add Gaea's Herald...

Haha I do like that Warrior deck, I have one of my own that uses various Axes & Goblin Gaveleer among other things to smash opponents

As cool as some of the axes are, unfortunately this deck has almost no space for modifications. It's the reason I don't even have a sideboard.

I like the deck a lot. I am trying to build a modern elf deck for my friend for an upcoming Grand Prix Trial. I splashed white in a way that can barely be noticed, and really has no big effect on how you play the deck. I put in 4 windswept heath's, 4 temple garden, and 4 horizon canopy. All of those lands come into play untapped(if desired) and do not hurt the speed of the deck. It made it possible to play path to exile, which is the best removal in the format. It also gave sideboarding a lot more options. Also, you get a slight card advantage with horizon canopy. I feel like you need all the small edges to be competitive in this game.
+1 like from me! Love tribal decks!

I see what you're saying, but oddly enough, every time I try add some of those types of cards, this deck fails me. If I revert, the deck works :|

Have you ever thought about putting in Coat of Arms? I know it costs a lot of mana so you can't get it out as early but it's a game changer when it gets out. And since all the creatures are elf warriors it would really increase their potency.

your deck structure is fine your ratio is a little off though and the huge problem is that you don't have elvish promenade. so your elf producing creatures would get countered or destroyed, exiled, or even bounced back to sommoning sickness before you had the chance. also no removal and not enough trample I suggest elvish promenade, craterhoof behemoth, and beat within XD i'll leave the ratio to you. I read comments be more open to suggestions it helps ya learn XD.

I do try some of the cards that get suggested, but every time I do, the deck fails me and when I revert to this build for the next FNM (about a month later), it works like a beast. It's weird that whenever I stray from this build it ends up not working...

I do use some of the cards suggested here in a different elf deck that is more token oriented and that deck works fine with those cards. I should get around to posting its current state...

I know that a lot of groups play only Standard in FNM, but my group doesn't only play Standard, but Modern too. This is one of my Modern decks and it is legal.

Nice elf deck, I've been meaning to find an updated version that would have some teeth. I think I've just found it!

This is a really nice elf deck, but all you have is Forests. Some cards you might want to consider are Oran Rief the Vastwood and Llanowar Reborn. These help to strengthen your creatures. btw, thank you for commenting on my deck

Llanowar Reborn is an idea. Oran Rief may be a better option than Llanowar Reborn, but acquiring Oran Rief at the without ordering it online is a problem.
