Deck Description

Supposed to be based around Vamps and Demons, although I'm not sure how many demons are going to be in it. I'm trying to rebuild it and work with it, but I think at max I'm only going to have 4-6 demons in it. The rest be low cost stuff. I want this to be fast. The Demon of Death's Gate I intend to get out with the 3 creature cost, and rebuild my health with Highborns and Vapors. Hexmages for any Jace decks.

Currently still going under heavy play testing in MWS, although I don't like the way it shuffles because I shuffle my land MUCH differently then just throwing everything in and shuffling, so play testing isn't really going all that well as far, still tweaking to be able to bring on early game competition as well as mid game control.

I'm open to any tips. Leave a comment to help turn this into Tournament Quality and in return I'll give a deck of your choosing a like.

I reccomend taking out Death's Shadow and using Guul Draz Vampires instead. That way you can play them on turn 1 without them dying and have more creatures to sac and get Demon of Death's Gate out.

Well I put the Death's Shadow in to sac for life mid-game after a couple card draws/demon summons/attacks. I could use a couple other first turn critters though, so I'll put 2 more vamps in for 2 death's shadows.

I'm still not sure you have enough creatures to reliably get Demon of Death's Gate out... but I don't know what you would take out.

So far with play testing the death's shadows have been useless for lifegain. Not too bad for a last defense to try to get out of a hole. If I can't get more use out of them soon I'm moving them to the side board if not out completely. I'm also replacing the Liliana with the Sorin Markov's. I'm going to put in a doom blade or 2 to counter the artifact creatures.

I don't quite understand Sorin in this deck; he only really works in late game control.

I'd intended to have some late game control with him as well as just a little life point guard. If I want too I can instant 10 my opponent and burn them down with the highborns

If you want to go that route, you could always sideboard him along with some control. That would really mess someone up if you sideboarded into a different kind of deck.

That had actually crossed my mind. The problem is though do I really want to make this a control deck first, then find out they have Jace? I'm ok with either option, my biggest problem so far seems to be that no matter how I edit the deck, any form of route I take, when I play test it, MWS decides that it's going to skewer where my land is in the deck, and give me the (easiest way to put it) shittiest opening hand every single time.

What would you suggest to put in the sideboard to turn it into a completely separate control deck?

Well it's got some pretty decent control right now... Last Kiss is good. Sorin of course. Psychic Miasma is excellent and so is Blood Tithe. And... Guul Draz Specter.

I'll have to fiddle with some of that after work. So far with play testing this current layout wins 3 out of every 4 games. It would be 4-4 but the opponent scooped twice so I'm not counting those.

I think that you should be running more 1 drops. Heck, take out some of your 2 drops and put in death cultist! Sac them for the life loss and to get Demon of Death's Gate out even faster.

Bloodghast is a must have for this deck! Go for the Throat should replace doom blade. Duress because you are wide open vs control. Also Lacerator or Viscera Seer as another 1-drop. Have you concidered Blade of the Bloodcheif?

if your looking for mid-late game control you cant get much better than guul draz assasin, plus he is a one drop so you would still have the option of sacing him to your demon in the early game
