Deck Description

wanted to make a deck based on Raging Ravine as the win. I love the card and think it can be a very awesome card.

comments welcomed.

Deck discussion for Raging Avalanche

You should add cards to have multiple combat fases, so you get faster counters. Maybe some counter-doublers. And cards that can boost counter creaturs (like giving them trample or flying)

yah i was thinking doubling season but i thought it might be a touch too much for the mana curve and could be a dead card if the ravine is destroyed. what cards did ya have in mind? they probably would make great SB options for this.

Well, you could use Hellkite Charger and have enough creatures on the battlefield that tap for mana. Tap them for mana to activate it's ability, attack with the ravine, Hellkite untaps the Ravine and all your mana generation creatures, repeat process.

that is a pretty good option. could just be really cheap and make the inf attack loop. charger plus bear umbra.

Actually yes, completely forgot about Bear Umbra, that works as well.

Yea, I use it actually in one of my decks, imagine that combo happening, but all my lands are indestructible creatures. :3

Maybe Banefire instead of Bonfire of the Damned? That way it can't be countered (if it's over 5, which would be easy in this deck).

I second this, you've got crazy ramp so paying six+ for this would be super easy. I think it's more of a sideboard swap depending on the deck you're against, though. I'd also recommend Mizzium Mortars over Bonfire, potentially.

hmm i guess i can make the switch. it would also drop the overall price tag for the deck too.

Seeing as you've got so much ramp, I would suggest Rude Awakening.

eh titan can kill on his own and takes away from the deck design here, same thing with the wolf run.

how about curse of stalked prey? it gives any creature that deals combat damage to player a +1/+1 counter to that creature. it would combo well with raging ravine, and perhaps some double strike cards?

now that idea i do like. that would make a great add to the deck, just not sure what i should let go to make room for at least 3 of them.

It seems to me like all that ramp is going to waste. You can't tutor for much, and your X costs are pretty limited. Some things you might want to look at as aces in the hole:
Clan Defiance
Savageborn Hydra
Apocalypse Hydra
Protean Hydra
Strength of the Tajuru
Untamed Might
