Deck Description

This is a defender control based mill that I designed. The idea behind this deck is to let them struggle with doing anything, using your counters to control the game, and have what ever creatures they do manage to get out, or what ever spells you do let resolve, deal with you nigh unpenatrable wall of Defenders. Any STANDARD suggestions would be welcome, and if you want to see where I got the cards to work from, look at my deck called Standard Mill Pool. I will be building a midrange deck, and an unblockable deck with it as well. Thanks!

How to Play

WIth this deck, the goal is to mill via nephalia/Shredder/Doorkeeper. You use your counters to decide what you want played, and can us Duress to get rid of some of the threats before they can cast them, conserving a counter for a spell that is more important to counter. Mainly, you sit behind your shield, and mill them for small increments, and watch their horror grow, as they realize that they are dying, slowly. THe sideboard is mostly counters more oriented towards creature based decks, so you can change out what would work better against aggro builds.

Deck discussion for Standard Defender Control Mill

You should run Mizzium Mortars in your sideboard. You should come off one unsummon, one rapid, and one Negate. Personally, I'd drop two of your dimir charms for two maindeck because your counting on your doorman to mill and this format is full of bounce and target kill. Goodluck!

THanks for the suggestions. I didn't want to run mizziums for 2 reasons. 1, it means splashing another color for 1 card, so that doesn't seem like a good idea. And 2, I want to keep this deck under about 100 bucks, so I can't add another color to the mana base safely. Its just not worth it for mizzium. Thanks though for replying.

opps, i ment mizzium skins. It makes one or all of your creatures hexproof... you should protect your creatures more:)

Ah. I'll consider it then. Thanks for clarifying. Your suggestion didn't really make sense with the theme of the deck. Lol
