Deck Description

This is a deck that I am thinking of putting together for standard play in my local shop.
Most people play Mono Black, Mono Blue or Esper Control and Red Green Monsters has started showing up.

I'd like some feedback about the deck.

As of now I try to take care of the board with the vast amout of removal at my disposal, have some life gain, keep pressure via assemble the legion and tokens from elspeth.
Also control my opponents hand through Thoughtseize and Rakdos's Return, and on the second game side in Slaughter games to remove the biggest threats asap.

Purphoros and Mogis are basicly indestructible enchantments that deal damage when one of my tokens comes into play or make my opponent choose to sac a creature or take 2 damage (if everything goes well he will not have anything to sac).

I choose to go mostly for the scry lands mostly ecause they are cheaper and scrying can be nice to help dig a little bit more for that card you need (I also never had problems with not having mountains for chained to the rocks in my playtests).

Rakdos, Lord of Riots is there mostly because I wanted a beefy creature and he gives some good devotion (lately have been thinking about forgeting the devotion and just replace him with Desecration Demons).

I would love some feedback on this deck. Do you think it is viable? what would you trade and why?

Thanks. :)

Deck discussion for Dega Control?

Interesting... ...you really shouldn't run gods in this...

Read the Bones is way better than Connections when you don't play for Devotion & you really shouldn't in a deck like this... ...I understand, that Mogis is good for control for it's upkeep triggered-ability alone & that Purphoros combined with Elspeth is a strong combo, but it usually won't play out, because either a fast aggro deck slices you in half before you can take it down by it, or a control deck gets rid of 1 or the other before you can cast both...

You run too much discard effects in the main deck & not enough board control... ...you'll have dead cards many times & not enough munition to face threats that are already attacking you...

In the sideboard, playing Pithing Needle is pointless, because you can rather destroy planeswalkers by Dreadbore &/or Downfall... ...Dark Betreyal is not worth playing, if not only 1 copy in the sideboard...

Get a couple of Revoke Existance for the sideboard!..

Dega is white based with a little kick of both black & red... ...this deck is rather Oros...

Here is my version of Oros control... ...I've played it a lot at tournaments & it has done it's job: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/desecration-mortars/
