Balanced Breakfast: good ol fast control mixed with Counterbalance and miracle cards for the WThe deck basically wants to do what control always wants to do, but use Counterbalance and miracles as twin-turbo engines while doing it (this isn't a novel concept, but has been improved recently as I'll explain).Miracles goes with Counterbalance about as well as any two mechanics can be expected to, and there are lots of little tricks you can tack on that help both of them max each other out, especially with the addition of some new 5-drops that don't cost 5, so they can be used to counter Force of Will. For example, Lorien Revealed, Triumph of Saint Catherine, and Solitude can all be topdecked with a Brainstorm (for example) to counter Force, netting you an unbelievable +2 in material with tempo, all while not inconveniencing you in the slightest. You want to run those cards in this build anyway, they just happen to fit in with Counterbalance against THE counterspell in legacy. You can also use fetch lands as pseudo-counter setups with the surveil lands and/or Mystic Sanctuary, both of which let you control the top of your deck to some degree. So, suddenly all your fetch lands turn into possible counterspells once Counterbalance is up and running. You can also use Lorien Revealed to change the top of your deck, further adding to the Counterbalance shenanigans.Scroll Rack is interesting on its own, as you can use it to hide cards from discard and as an emergency to try for Force of Will against combo (etc), on top of being good selection anyway in a build that can use fetch lands, but in a Counterbalance build it gets thrown into the stratosphere. It's not as good as Sensei's Divining Top, but it's good enough to warrant its spot, and I'm halfway convinced that it should be splashed into a few other build archetypes as well, with which I'll be experimenting in the near future.Couple that with the extremely low curve and efficient removal and counter magic, and hopefully you can grind out the W.Thoughts appreciated.
