Buffet: all you can eat, and the eating's good
Here's the theory- there are fun ways to take advantage of big mana that synergize extremely well with having lots of creatures, which also feeds into more mana, which feeds into bigger payoffs. So, here's an attempt to build a big mana deck that uses mana dorks as boosts to tempo and as pseudo-fuel for a hand refill and eventually a payoff wincon.
You're running 15 dorks, so if you don't get one in the opening hand, you'd better head to a church. You're running 11 draw payoffs, and 8 of them you'll be able to cast turn 2 if opponent doesn't bolt the bird. Thus, you'll be ahead on tempo and material in most games. You're also running 8 free permission spells, so your gameplan isn't really affected while allowing you to keep the shields up turns 1 and 2 without being slowed down in the slightest (hopefully). Everything else just synergizes with that idea.
Your dorks give you mana and let you dump it into material payoffs, which gets you to your wincons. Plagon is a hand refill on top of a beater clock, The One Ring is The One Ring and speaks for itself. Stock Up will get you whatever you need, and casting it turn 2 with the shields up feels mighty fine indeed.
Gaea's Cradle is a powerhouse in here, and with half your deck being critters and some material payoffs, you'll basically use it to speed up several turns. If you've got it, you'll be casting Craterhoof with enough juice leftover for the OTK, but realistically you should be able to get that done anyway with just how many dorks you're running. The Hierarchs also double as a mini-clock wincon, as you'll basically always have the Exalted to fall back on and speed things up. In a topdeck war, having dorks and Exalted in play means you're clocking for damage while opponent isn't, all while topdecking into material payoffs that opponent might not have waiting in the stack.
Then there's the Tamiyo of it all. She trips Plagon, she draws you cards and you've got the extra mana to take advantage of it, she loves when you draw cards, she grabs back stack interaction, she loves Exalted. Hot damn, this is a deck that makes Tamiyo sing.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. It's not a complicated setup, but I do think it's got some merit.
The only other angle here is potentially running Mystic Remora, as I think it would absolutely devastate so many builds that want to ramp through into shenanigans, and having one in play would draw you SOOOOO many cards opponent can't really do much about. Plus, you'll have the mana to pay for it, as your dorks and Cradles will keep you ahead of the curve. It also pitches to Force, so that's nice. And, since it's a 1-drop and the accumulation is slow, you'll only be taxed a pittance in mana the first few turns, and then you can throw it away once you've got the refill and need the mana to cash in on the material it drew you. I see the argument for a few copies mainboarded, but it seems like a good side hustle to me.
Thoughts appreciated.
