Deck Description

What’s going on guys DNinja89 here and I’m back with another Gem or jank. This week we have Solgurk, the overslime. I hope you enjoy the deck and if you want to see it in action then check out my YouTube channel.

How to Play

So Solgurk is a interesting card, it gets stronger the more lands that go into the graveyard while it’s in play. So I focused around that with this deck. We have some self mill, card draw, counters, and ways of getting lands into the grave. If that fails we always have vorinclex.

Deck discussion for Gem or jank: Solgurk.

Something like Ghostly Pilferer to discard lands to save slogurk if needed ?

Good call I’ll have to try it in a historic deck. But right now I wanted something for standard and M21 has rotated out.

Spotted the hawk in the video.
What do you think of it ?

I like that it's an early attacker that supported with a lot of cheap counterspells and removal could take home the victory. It also fastforwards the deck.

Yes it did it was a very good call. Right now the meta is still shaping and I’m terrible with control decks. So it won’t be the last time we see him on my channel.

Mmm, slogurg... Like the card, thanks for the inspiration. I took it a bit the other way, but key elements are pretty much the same - biggest difference is adding a third color for, hurrdurrhurr, Faithful Mending (and a sweeper, felt like the deck could use one).

Well to be honest that’s the main reason why I do gem or jank. I want people to think where you can make the deck better. I just want to inspire people.

It's the best cause there is :)
When you start getting viewed a lot you will also become the target of trolls.
I think I read/overheard you losing a subscriber.
That could be an early troll trying to discourage you.
By subscribing and then later unsubscribing the troll can cause you to think and reflect unnecessary about the quality of your latest work.

Latest research shows that about 40% of people are willing to troll if they are anonymous (not the hacker group, just anonymous)

So losing subscribers early on might just be someone trying to manipulate you.
It can become pretty complex, and in mtgvault it's sort of an arms race.
