Deck Description

'Anything goes' Enchantment Deck- No Creatures.

How to Play

Old School Rules apply.

This deck was created and developed under private 'House' rules. Unrestricted and 'Banned' cards were allowed which explains the use of the 'Power Surge' card (one of my personal favorites). Personally, I don't think the card should have been banned because the card is dangerous to all players. Well, depending on which version of the card you have.

This Enchantment deck utilizes damage based and is partially dependent on Mana Burn but the primary goal is to achieve Immortality. This is accomplished once you have the necessary Mana available and the two combo Enchantment cards; Forgotten Wastes (Enchant World) and Transcendence (Enchantment).

First, you must cast the Enchant World spell before any other Enchantments. Once Forgotten Wastes is successfully cast, you have a limited time to cast Transcendence. This is no easy feat because it requires a total of 9 Mana (5 Colorless, 2 Black and 3 White), and you have no creatures in the deck.

Forgotten Wastes -Enchant World- text:

Players cannot gain life.

During each player's upkeep that player looses 1 life.

If Forsaken Wastes is the target of a successfully cast spell, that spells caster loses 5 life.

Transcendence -Enchantment- text:

You don't lose the game for having 0 or less life.

When you have 20 or more life, you lose the game.

Whenever you lose life, you gain 2 life for each 1 life you lost.

So, the goal is to take damage without losing the game or gaining life which will (now) cause you to lose the game.

The 'Transcendence' rule of 'Whenever you lose life you gain 2 life for each 1 life you lost.' is countered by the -Enchant World- Forsaken Wastes rule of 'Players cannot gain life.' Now all players cannot gain life but all players lose life and even though Forsaken Wastes causes all players to lose 1 life during a player's upkeep, it's hardly fast enough. Fortunately, because Forsaken Wastes prevents the gain of life (During each player's upkeep that player looses 1 life.) the benefit of losing life complements the Transcendence rule of 'You don't lose the game for having 0 or less life.' Which, allows for unlimited damage that does not cause you to lose the game.

There are multiple ways to protect certain cards in play but that can be challenging when faced with multiple players whom can prevent, dis-enchant, destroy or remove cards from play or the game.

One card that can't be underestimated in protecting -Enchantment- cards 'in play' is an 'oldie but goodie' is a card rarely seen or used in game... The white -Instant- 'Remove Enchantments' card. Not to mention, save you from losing life or your game when someone prevents, dis-enchants or removes Forgotten Wastes or Transcendence from play.

Other cards i

To protect your Enchantment combo, the addition of the -Artifact- 'That Which Was Taken', if used quickly, can render Forsaken Wastes and Transcendence, 'Indestructible'- Once achieved you become Immortal.

With 'Mana Flare', 'Overabundance' and the infamous banned card, 'Power Surge', you can inflict incredible amounts of damage from Mana Burn and penalized use of Mana.

Enchantment Cards like 'Soul Barrier' (Text: Whenever an opponent casts a creature spell, Soul Barrier deals 2 damage to that player unless he or she pays 2), 'Propaganda' (Text: Creatures can't attack you unless their controller pays 2 for each creature he or she controls that's attacking you.), help to punish your opponents, not only for summoning creatures but attacking you.

The -Instant- Early Harvest combined with the -Enchantment- Power Surge, can annihilate any and all of your opponents.
