Deck Description

The idea is a controlish deck that uses necropotence for card advantage and then uses drain life/corrupt to kill and get your life back.

How to Play

The perfect hand is: Unmask, Swamp, Dark Ritual, Necropotence. With this i can make sure i get necro on turn 1. After necro just make sure to land swamp every turn.
Until turn 6 landing Nantuko Shade and Crypt Ghast helps maintaining the game under control with Damnation, Geth's Verdict and Unmask.
At 6 swamps it starts to get funny xD. You can cast corrupt/drain life for damage and you can also pump Nantuko Shade for tons of damage (with some help from crypt ghast).

Deck discussion for Necrolock

Interesting. There are only a few cards difference keeping this from looking like the popular black decks of the late 90's...

not to bad. looks like it has some potential!

necropotence is a very broken card. if you play it with ivory tower, and spell book, or reliquary tower some very crazy things can happen. having 20+ cards in your hand, in a mono black deck feels pretty awesome.

im not really feeling unmask, vampire nighthawk, and helldozer here. im not saying they're bad cards, i just feel like those slots could be utilized better by pushing necropotence to its fullest potential.

playing creatureless also gives you access to the most baddass removal spells in black. innocent blood, and wretched banquet.

thanks to your suggestions i changed the deck a little bit. here are my thoughts on it.

i didnt really wanted to play with a lot of cards in hand since i can just discard the cards that aren't that usefull on end step and draw or consult for them later.

i feel that unmask is a must since i must always land all necropotence/drain life/corrupt so it's good vs counters. also since i don't have counters of my own i can use it to discard other important cards from other decks

helldozer i don't like either but i am not sure what to have instead :(. will try nantuko shade and see if i can get some damage in with it. i think ideally the best would be a creature with some power and protection from white and blue or something like that.

i am also trying out crypt ghast because i might get some really insane drain life with it and can also pump the shade a lot. don't really want to play creatureless because it feels too all-in on necropotence and that can backfire. i can be wrong though.

finally i am looking for alternatives for geth's verdict (creature removal) but not sure what :S (go for the throat?)
