It's true, It's suicide I would take pains reward out as after all that you arn't going to have much life to bid with. I don't think giant solifuge does enough either. maybe you could replace the sulphurous springs with rakdos canicariums? The dark confidents are also a bit risky with several 3 mana spells and soul spike you could try brain pry and a variety of others

yeah, and a lightning bolt > volcanic hammer usually.
Lightning bolt would be a good addition... along with some burst lightning... both are pretty good and can kill creatures too, if absolutly neccessary.

try lightning ball, and cards that summons elementals, both of those cards have 7/1 haste, trample ?
instead of volcanic hammer, put in incinerate and you should add in dark tempers too
