Deck Description

Fast & cheap w/lots of evasion and protection. One-drops get big in a hurry.

How to Play

Ideal opener:
Turn 1: Favored Hoplite
Turn 2: Etherial Armor x2
Turn 3: Aqueous Form (2 untapped plains available for Gods Willing/Brave the Elements)

You've got a 10/11 unblockable, firststrike, scry 1 every time you attack. GG.

If your one drop was a Hopeful Eidolon: 9/9 unblockable, lifelink, first strike, scry 1.

If your one drop was a Soldier of the Pantheon: 8/7 unblockable, firststrike, protection from multicolor, scry 1.

Favored Hoplite would be 10/11 - not 9/10.. and that's a lot better since you can two shot your opponent ;)

decks like this are really fun to play, but VERY draw dependent. If you can't combo early, its GG

Most budget decks will have that problem.

True and true. Almost everything is 4x though, so there isn't a ton of top deck variety.

What you're up against matters a lot too. It's faster than a most aggro decks. Removal sucks though. I might add a couple Brave the Elements as the Flittersteps are the only non-white creatures in the main deck. IDK.

A Sphere of Safety would really make this deck hard to beat.

I had the same thought. Makes me sad that it's a 5 drop, though. Maybe 2x spheres instead of the stratus walk?

That's the route I would go.

I added a couple spheres to the sideboard. I don't feel like aggro poses as much of a threat as, say, removal. I very well could be wrong. I'll let you know after I play the deck some more.

I have a similar deck, http://www.mtgvault.com/traslin/decks/aqueous-weeniegro/. One big recommendation is hidden strings, especially if you put some more heroic in the deck. It is ridiculous how much mileage you can get out of hidden strings with all the unblockable you are running, and it pays for itself by allowing you to untap your lands and cast one or two more enchantments on your Ace.

I'd also suggest replacing Stratus Walk with Gift of Orzhova. It wins games.

I like your deck. It has better answers than mine for removal and control.

I would like to keep Stratus Walk as much for the card draw as the flying. The mana curve is so low, it's easy to run out of cards. But I might look at some alternatives to Flitterstep Eidolon so I can run a couple Brave the Elements.

Maybe a couple of Strings.

Ether take away some islands or add more blue just you don't need 10 islands for 4 aqueous forms

He is right I would cut it down as well and maybe throw some dual lands in if your worried about not having the Island when you need it.

Yeah, those are holdovers from a previous iteration of this deck that ran flitterstep eidolons.

I'm running 12 plains, 4 hallowed fountains and 4 islands now.

I'll go ahead and edit the deck. not so budget anymore, what whatevs.

That's a much better mana pool.
