Deck Description

The Goal:

Bant In Return to Ravnica format!

The Means:

Some staple cards, and with a bit of flicker for your progenitor mimic!

The Fix:

Draw and mana fixing.

How to Play

The Cards!

ClueStones: Fixes your mana, and gets you a card when you have enough of it. Really you can never have 'enough' but once you have six, you can start sacking these things on your opponents turn to draw a card!

Cloudfin Raptor: This guy is harmless, until you give him some buddies. Once voice drops, he gets bigger. Then consistently bigger as tokens come into play. It loves populate, and it loves elemental tokens!

Progenitor Mimic: One of my favorite clones? Why? Because he makes a token, and tokens I can populate. Something of theirs, something of mine... doesn't matter. Then after you get the token, bounce him so that he enters as another something.

Trostani, Selesnya Voice: These girls have made it into a lot of my bant decks. When you drop her, she starts giving you life! Populate for even more! This card is most often the card which saves my game.

Voice of Resurgence: Best two drop in standard? Arguably, people still love snapcaster, I just never been lucky enough to have him. Pair him with progenitor mimic? Cool stuff! All of a sudden, casting spells, not such a good idea. Well at least when it isnt your turn.

Deputy of Acquittals: Flash in and bounce a mimic!

Blind Obedience: You cast enough spells for this to be relevant life gain. It stops aggro, and plays an interesting role in the mirror match.

Azorius Charm: I never cycle this card, because I could just as easily swing all out with life link, and gain a bunch! Or return a few pesky cards...

Selesnya Charm: At the start? Well get a bit aggro with a 2/2 knight with vigilance. It might even evolve your cloudfin! Getting into that late game? Banish a beater! Need to pull through for lethal? Well an elemental token with trample will definitely make it possible! SO MANY USES!

Simic Charm: Looking to stabilize? This is your card! Hexproof your creatures when removal starts hitting pretty heavy, bounce a progenitor or trostani to get passed the field wipe, or buff up the thing that wasn't blocked just to get to strike back at the heart a little. This is my save!

Beck//Call: Beck and populate! To give some draw to your creature! Call to give some chump fliers to buy a few turns. Beck and call for 8 to draw at least four... at least.

Supreme Verdict: Wrath the field

Wake the reflections: A one drop populate... why not?

Deck discussion for Bant! All Blocked UP

This was a quick build, it doesn't take very much to make a great block deck...

I worked with bant since return to ravnica in this standard, just because it was the curve ball deck that could out preform any innistrad aggro with the right hands. Since then, bant has been getting far more popular. Well, of course! It is just to hard to neglect some of these cards! For those looking for a mid-ranged deck biased around field presence bant is the answer!

This kills esper, does well against aggro, especially if you have a trostani opening hand, and is pretty malleable in the mirror match because of the progenitor mimic. Overall, good players do good with this deck. Solid build.
